Bailey's in Crystal City will have the MSU game on this Saturday. I'm
sure it's a trek for some of you, but we'd love to have any of you who
are interested join us! If you have any questions, you're welcome to
e-mail me at rachel@.... There is also information (or
there will be in a few minutes) at http://watchvols.blogspot.com.
Hope to see you Saturday. Go Vols!

Hey Vols Fans,
The Mississippi State game is on Pay Per View on Saturday at 2:30 PM.
Portside Tavern did not show the Southern Miss game which was on PPV
because of outrageous access fees charged by the provider.
I expect Bailey's in Crystal City to show the game for the DC Vols. The
DC Vols website doesn't list the game yet so I'm not sure. I'm planning
to go to Bailey's to watch the game unless we hear that Portside will be
able to get it. Does anyone else plan to go to Crystal City to watch
the game?
Rich
You will have no problems. You're kids will be A-OK!
The game will be over long before it gets packed with
the night crowd.

Hi group!
I'd love to come join the sea of orange this weekend, but am not
familiar with the Portside Tavern. For those of you who are or those
who have been to game-watching there previously, could you provide some
input. I have 13-year-old twins who would be coming with me.
Thanks much! GO VOLS!!!

Hey Everyone,
I heard there was a good turnout, like 25+ people! That's AWESOME!
We're doing it again this weekend at Portside Tavern in Canton.
Come out and meet some alumni in the area and root on the Vols!
There will be redemption this weekend!
SPREAD THE WORD!

It's that time of year...not just football season, but college fairs. The Office of Alumni Affairs is in need of some VOLunteers for college fairs in Maryland this fall. Some are in Baltimore, others are farther away.
Hopefully someone out there can help staff at least those two in Baltimore this fall. It's a short time commitment, and all that is required is a willingness to talk about the University of Tennessee to prospective students! The alumni office will send application materials to hand out and a list of frequently asked questions (and the answers) so you can discussion admissions with the students.
This is a great way to give back to the university that has given us so much. If you can help this fall, please contact Erin Miller at emiller6@... or via phone (number below). The list of
college fairs is below my message.
Thanks,
Christina

Chris, The Office of Alumni Affairs has received several invitations across the Baltimore area to help staff college fair events. If you know of any volunteers who will be willing to help us out at any of these events please let me know as soon as possible.

My wife and I just moved to Baltimore in June. We are looking for a
place to watch the game with fellow UT fans. (She's actually a UNC
grad but I've converted her). Hope to see you at Portside!

Paul, thanks for setting this up and hopefully giving this group a jumpstart. I tried to put it together a few years ago, but, as Tom said, we could never find a location that worked for many people.
I have two babies now (21 months and 3 months)...they will be decked out in orange, but they will be keeping me home most of the season. I hope I can join y'all for at least one gamewatch this season.
Go Vols!

Hey Everyone, I have been watching the e-mails fly around about people wanting to get together to watch UT games in the city. I have spoken to a friend of mine who owns Portside Tavern in Canton and they would be interested in hosting the events. They do not have any alumni groups currently there and they have a few big 'ol flat screens with UT ALUMNI written all over them! I will set everything up with them and it would be helpful if someone else could serve as a point of contact since I will not be able to attend, I'm heading to the game. Please e- mail me and I'll get you in contact with him. He will offer food and beverage specials for everyone. Spread the word and I'll send out another post with all of the details.

Hi all
We haven't met as a group in a couple of years because the interest
just wasn't there - several people would express interest at the start
of the year, a few would show up for the first game or two, then it
would be down to the same 2 or 3 people and it sort of just dropped off
and it wasn't really worth the effort to organize.
That being said, if someone wants to step forward to organize I think
it would be great to try again. Part of the problem in the past was
probably the location - no matter where we picked it was only
convenient for a few people (everybody was always spread all over the
Baltimore area). Damon's at Arundel Mills was our usual haunt, and they
were usually pretty good to us but I think a fresh location might help.
Someone suggested a place in Canton - sounds good to me. Game is 8PM
Saturday. Anybody want to Volunteer to organize? I live in Severna
Park but will travel.
Tom
I live in Gambrills, near Odenton. I am in between DC, Annapolis, and Baltimore, so pretty much anywhere will work.

Hey my name's Ben and I just joined up so I can watch games this year with fellow Vols since I'm not working every Saturday. I live in downtown Baltimore but I'm willing to drive to the burbs if we can't find a convenient central location near me so who's interested in watching this year's

I'm always for it when I'm around. The last couple of years the Baltimore
group didn't seem to materialize so I went to some of the DC chapter game
watches in Arlington, VA.
Some of the games are only on VideoSeat like the Southern Miss game
on September 8th. I hope we can find a place that will host us when
the pay per view games are on as well as the big games and won't blow us
off when maryland or penn state are on. I live in Howard County so
I would prefer someplace downtown or south of downtown. I don't have
any good suggestions though. There's a couple of places in Columbia
I'll check on but I'm not promising anything.

Good Morning, I would like to join all Vols fans this year if I can on Saturdays. I live north of Baltimore in Aberdeen. I am currently with the Army, so I will have weekends when I will not be available to participate.
Thanks for the invite,
