The word Bahujan has roughly come to mean “the deprived majority” in India, we could think of it to mean “deprived majority of the world”. As long as men and women do not share all positions of power nearly 50-50, I would say that women in those countries or regions are oppressed. Any identifiable group that does not have its due representation in positions of power (i.e., a representation in the same proportion as its share in the general population,) is an oppressed group.

All those who think of uplifting and empowering the downtrodden of the world are welcome to join the list.
