We are a small group of fairly conservative, Bible-believing Christian sisters who gather at the Backyard Fence to share a cup of coffee and a friendly chat. While of different denominations, we enjoy old-fashioned values and sometimes wish for simpler, earlier times, when living our faith seemed just a little easier, when heaven seemed just a little closer, and our neighbors seemed a little more like family.

On any given day, we might discuss biblical femininity, homeschooling, or our favorite brand of oven cleaner. We talk about how to help our children walk with God, and cry on each other’s shoulder and pray when they don’t. We bolster each other up in our attempts to be loving, supportive helpmeets to our husbands. We share recipes, good books, good movies, and ways of becoming closer to God in a world that seems to move further away from Him every day. Prayer requests and praises are shared and welcome, although scriptural debate is not permitted.

Some of us hold to old-fashioned ideas, such as large families, courtship rather than dating, and modest dressing. While it is not necessary that one agrees with all these things to be a member, scoffing of these values is not allowed.

Please note! Crude language, men-bashing, jokes of a sexual nature will not be tolerated. We try to be ladylike, gentle, and tender of one another's feelings -- uplifting and encouraging in a spirit of Christian love and kindness.
