WARNING!
An unknown miscreant has stolen a dive float inner-tube from a
float anchored at BreakWater Cove, Saturday 11/15/03.
Description:
Big, bright, brown eyes
Thick, short, brown hair - covers entire body
Approximately 3.5 feet long
Weight - about 40 lbs., soaking wet
Maybe 3-5 years in age
Incident Report:
This delinquent was initially seen trespassing upon the above
mentioned dive float. Witnesses were about 50 yards from the
scene. The thief then proceeded to break and enter the float
through he top zipper entry, where he then removed the
inner-tube from its canvas casing. This rendered the float
non-buoyant, thus allowing it to gently sink to the sandy floor, 20
feet below. The rambunctious robber escaped the scene with
his ill-gotten gains, but quickly released the tube in his efforts to
flee. The tube was recovered, but it had been vandalized along
with being stolen and no longer could maintain it's fully inflated
elliptical form. It was returned to its casing, where it feebly held
the anchored rope to the surface. Within an hour the bandit was
back. This time, blatantly taunting the float's owners as they
resurfaced from their class exercises. He first attacked the barely
buoyant canvass, dancing on and off of it in an obvious display of
defiance as the owners helplessly watched. The pirate then
again proceeded to peel the poor inner-tube from its protective
canvas. He again mocked the divers with it, by capering through
their midst, with tube in arms, overhead, around belly, under
backside and around again, finally escaping with his loot to the
East. This time for good.
Beware - an accomplice was seen acting as look out and
possibly learning his future trade. More floats may be victimized.
