Description

This group is for SCUBA divers in the Northern California area, Big Sur to Eureka.

We discuss both local diving and diving in general. Topics often include current dive conditions, local dive sites, equipment for cold water, dive safety, etc.

I am pretty good with a compass.. and really good at natural navigation, but keeping a "ping" on my hubby would try the patience [and ability] of a saint! I

Re: GPS for divers - looks like it's here
GPS does not work currently underwater because the water is a barrier for the satellite signals. I guess the surface unit of this device contains a GPS

I would think if a diver really needed O2 for long periods due to being bent, the captain should be contacting the coast gaurd to airlift the diver to the

I know Mike was talking about using one for emergency oxygen but others chimed in, talking about producing nitrox on a dive boat, so here's a brief explanation

... I wasn't actually thinking of O2 concentrators for feeding a compressor, just for medical O2 given to a single person who's bent or thinks they might be
