Wow, it's been a while! I apologize for neglecting this list, but I've
had a lot on my hands!
For starters, I've gotten accepted to a study abroad program at Tokiwa
University for this upcoming Fall semester, so I'll be out of the
country. I don't know what the status of my Internet access is, but I
plan on buying a laptop and 'Net access while I'm there. Hopefully
that means I'll be able to keep pace with some updates.
Second, I've just posted Chapter 24: A Perfect Victory of "What
Doesn't Kill You" on Fanfiction.net, MediaMiner.org, and Darkness
Rising (my site). Darkness Rising will eventually become part of
Epiphany, my anime, manga, and video-game based fanfiction archive,
which will be running off the eFiction 3.0 script. But that site won't
go live until eFiction 3.0 gets a stable release.
Blue Eyes and Apricots had some trouble with thieves using fanart
granted to us by a variety of artists, including Sakura Starlight, Lin
Kuruzu, Guardian Kysra, Mamono, and Cerulean San. Three users at
YouTube (TeaKaiba, AnzuTealover, and Ancient Memories) used their
fanart in videos without asking permission of the artists or me (the
site owner), and without giving credit. I successfully managed to get
the videos taken offline, but the users were all extremely rude to me
before I reported them, and it wouldn't surprise me if they did it again.
For that reason, I ask you to keep your eyes peeled for any videos
using fanart from my sites that the artists have NOT given credit or
permission for others to use. If they are not credited in the video,
you can tell for sure that they've been stolen. It is NEVER flattery
to see your work taken without permission/credit and used in someone
else's creation.
I've removed the Fanart section at BEA until I can come up with a
viable way of protecting the images. If you have any suggestions,
please let me know.
For the next week or two, I'll be in San Francisco moving out of my
old houose, and spending time with people before I head to Japan on
September 10th. Hopefully I'll find time to update fics in various
fandoms, and of course, my sites will eventually get an overhaul.
Finally, if you're a player of the Yu-Gi-Oh TCG, I will be selling all
of my cards. Contact me if you're interested.
