PS: nice poem.
Bonjour, Jean-Louis,
Thank you for your greeting. It's good that John's haiku inspired you.
Today, the news is about Turkey because yesterday
the U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee declared
(27 to 21) that the killing of 1.5 million Armenians from 1915-
1917 by the Ottoman turks was a genocide.
Why now? That was over 90 years ago! It was deplorable,
one of the worst genocides, but why now? Do Bush and Cheney
and the neo-conservatives want to go to war with both Iran and
Turkey to deflect attention from their outrageous failure in Iraq?
Numerous Republicans are distancing themselves from Bush more and
more or even turning away from the Republican Party because of
the 'world-domination ideology' of the neo-cons and other reasons.
It is understandable that Turkey recalled their ambassador to the
U.S. If only the U.N. and parliaments or congresses around the world
would declare condemnation - sooner than later - of any country
(no matter how strong) when it invades a sovereign country or begins
ethnic cleansing.

As much as it is hard to believe that the Bush administration would even think
of
extending our forces in other places, it is just like them and them alone.
Did you ever read John le Clarre's novel, Absolute Friends? This
reminds me of that. It is about the neo con's evolution
from the '60s and their ruthless plan for world domination.
The second version of the URL worked with my Mac. I'll send this out to friends.
Thanks, Cindy!

Good to hear from Robert Wilson and thanks, Cindy for sending in the link for
the
additional article.
Mark Jensen, who wrote "STRYKER PROTEST -- AFTERMATH: Judge dismisses cases
against
13 Port of Tacoma antiwar protesters," was among the supports in the court. He
had
also protested but was not arrested.
Best,
Carmen

My son recently graduated from high school. It wasn't until last year
that I learned about opt-out forms for students.
An article about this appeared in USA today:

Dear Serge and awhw members,
One of our fellow haiku poets, Karma Tenzing (Dennis
Dutton) was arrested for war protests at the Tacoma
Port on March 11th. Yesterday, I had the chance to
be among the supporters at the hearing for Tenzing
and other war protesters in Tacoma when the charges
were dismissed.
Here's the article in Tacoma News Tribune:
http://www.thenewstribune.com/news/local/story/113452.html
Way to go, Tenzing!
