The original free Glider based XCSOAR software has been around for a while.
Then a Paragliding version that will run on a Navigo Sat Nav was developed.
Others (Stu, Ian and Francis on another forum) have made it so easy to configure
and cheap to source that I got one.

So for £50, I have a GPS with live airspace warning, wind direction, wind speed,
height AGL, height GPS, speed over ground, terrain, topology (and loads of
features I don't use) for the UK and France. And other countries are likely to
follow.

Note: Most of the info pasted below is available direct on the PPG forum posted
by Ian, Stu and Francis http://groups.yahoo.com/group/PilotsPPGclubUK/ and other
PG places?

I have no commercial interest in this. Like Twitter it is nice to share PG/PPG
tips that may have value, and are low cost.

This has a minor update to the UK XCsoar for motors with dummies with the
aircraft model now replicating a paramotor (Synthesis wing and typical
motor/cage). The map is still Sussex with the entire UK still selectable for
those prepared to wait long enough for the larger file to load or can't be
bothered to use the website to specify their own area. I have called it Version
1.1 assuming that the previous was V1.0.


Also created another version for those in France however the map is the whole of
France so it will take a little longer to load up. It has French airspace
loaded and can be downloaded from here...

Again, just drop the contents of the folder labelled 'XCsoar paramotor V1.1
France' onto the freshly formatted SD card and then off you go. The manual is
contained in the download in a folder labelled 'Docs'.
