Newsletter No.8 - Date: Wednesday 13th, March, 2002
Hello Everyone,
This is the first newsletter of 2002.
MY NEWS
My web address has changed to:
http://members.lycos.co.uk/aerospace21/index.html
The word "tripod" has been replaced by "lycos" so please adjust all
your web links to the new address and inform all your friends of the
change.
In addition, I have a new web site for the space section:
http://www.aerospaceguide.net/index.html
I am not sure if I will transfer the aircraft section to the new web
address. If I do, I will announce it in a newsletter. I also got a
new website for my shopping web site and it is:
http://www.dialashop.com/index.html
So if you need to buy a book, travel, DVD or whatever, then type
dialashop.com and use the various banners. It has good ones like
Amazon and Bol.
Please note that I have had not much time to update the aircraft
pages because I spent most of my time find a new host for
aerospaceguide.net and dialashop.com
WHAT's NEW?
- Aviation Shop
http://members.lycos.co.uk/aerospace21/aviationshop/index.html
There are some really interesting products like the B2 Stealth Bomber
radio controlled aircraft. It looks nice. I have search engines for
Amazon and others. I will soon take off the Smithsonian one because
they have dropped their affiliate program. In the future I will try
to improve the page even more so support Aerospaceguide by buying
something.
AIRCRAFT NEWS IN BRIEF
* Aircus Military aircraft Company (AMC) has re-opened competion
following acknowledgement by Aero Propulsion alliance (APA) that its
TP400 proposal would not meet the weight or specific fuel consumption
requirements. Perhaps it would be cheaper if they licensed the
Antonov An-70.
* India has authorized Hindustan Aeronautics (HAL) to start limited
series production of the indigenous Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) and
has ordered 8 aircraft for delivery from 2006.
* Boeing's Canard Rotor wing technical demonstrator has been named X-
50. The first of the two subscale unmanned vehicles is scheduled to
be rolled out in June and to fly later this year.
* The first shoot-down test by the Boeing Yal-1 Airvorne Laser (ABL)
has been delayed by a year to 2004.
