Hi again . . . here is the pressing question at the moment!
Holly (my 5 month old) was born affected in all four limbs. Her left wrist
and hand are doing really well -- tight, but she moves everything. On her
right hand, her wrist is really weak and keeps pulling the wrist back into
contracture. Passively I can get the wrist to about 35% in back flexion,
but she can't hold it in neutral without my help. When her hand is in
neutral, she moves all of her fingers, grips things, etc. Her arm moves and
brings the hand up to her face, and she uses the left hand to get her right
thumb into her mouth (it's pretty darn cute).
So, does anyone have any suggestions on how to help her strengthen her right
wrist? We wear wrist cock splints at night that holds the hand in slight
back flexion. During the day, I stretch it as often as possible and help
encourage her to reach for things. She never ignores the right hand -- in
fact most times she reaches with it first, then the left hand moves in and
completes the task.
Thanks for any suggestions!
Amy

sounds like fun, from here in Tacoma! We don't use Seattle Children's, so we
wouldn't be at a luncheon. I'm sure Reli would LOVE to see some other kids
with arthrogryposis! It would be best for us, though, if this could be on a
weekend.

Teja just got approved for her new electric wheelchair!!! Yeah. She

Amy, That is such a fun time of a babys life..man you must have your hands
full with 3 1/2 year old twins and a baby!!! I have a 10 year old and tucker
who just turned 4 a few months ago...he has amc. That is enough to keep me
busy and running from sun up to sun down. Sometimes i log on here and have
about 50 emails just from me not being able to get on line for a couple of
days.
well have a great day. traci

I'd hate to see some horrid virus senders corrupt the community we've
created -- Avenues2 was a super idea that doesn't allow for attachments, but
I don't see many people there either.
Anyway, if you haven't unsubscribed, I want to say thanks for everything so
far. Holly is 5 months today and doing well. We are so lucky to have her
as a part of our family. Hope to see more posts soon!

Just wanted to let you guys know that my daughter Erica will be having
surgery done on her left knee on Thursday to straighten it out. I'm
not exactly sure what they'll be doing but her knee is bent now and
it's stuck there so I'm guessing it'll be some sort of release. I'll
let you know what happens, we should be home Sunday night if all goes
well.

Well, just wanted to let all of you know that Masha will have her second
surgery this Tuesday to have the rods removed from her legs.
I will let all of you know how she is doing after we get home, which should
be Wednesday night.

That's ok, people mess up that name often. I always have people
saying "a dango ate my baby" or they just assume that I live in
Australia.
Anyway, thanks for joining the list, hopefully this list will grow
and have a lot of action.

Inadvertantly, of course.
Well, this is me moonlighting. I do this for a living during the
day, so I'm providing what I've found to those on the list. If you
subscribe to any of the lists below, you might want to find a good
virus scan program, like AVG (Freeware), McAfee, or Norton and scan
all files.

Cool, thanks. :o) I agree that we don't need moderation, but it will
be nice to have a couple people around who can help when, say... some-
one can't figure out how to unsubscribe, etc. etc.

Hi All,
I was lucky I only had 136 emails today. Not to be mean, but I think
Diane was just neglicting the list all together, because I have not
seen a post from her yet since I rejoined Avenues.
So if you have room for me I would love to join this group.
Talk to you all later,
Betty
Thanks to everyone posting the majordomo addresses. We shouldn't have
any problems with those since the attachments feature is turned off
on this list. As someone mentioned before, the majordomo posts were
from people who had viruses and then it spread throughout their
address books and became an endless loop.
Hopefully Diane can get her list straightened out, but people have
been complaining for a long time about attachments on that list, so I
don't understand why she never did anything.
This list shouldn't have any problems and won't really need
moderation, but I did appoint Carly to assist. So if there's any
problems or suggestions, just ask Carly or myself and we'll do
whatever we can.
Thanks,
=====

Don't know what happened to make me the lucky majordomo recipient! : ) It
was my last straw as well -- besides I saw quite a few people who I really
enjoy reading thier posts leaving the list because of virus problems.

I think some will...and some won't. I hate losing those folks, but I'm tired
of viruses and majordomo <g>. Hopefully, as most folks check their email,
they'll shift over. I took the plunge and unsubscribed last night. I got
lucky, though, it seems. I only had about 150 majordomo messages, thankfully
*not* 534!

We sent our e-mail out at the same time. Therefore I couldn't add the second
adress of majordomo as well. Though, here the second one I found:
Majordomo@...
I hope this helps. All the other stuff in the recycle bin has already been
deleted.

This time it was majordomo@... - last time it was
something different though... I don't have it anymore. I have a
feeling the reason these majordomos keep getting subscribed is some-
how related to the virus that is going around. All it takes is for
an infected computer to send the virus to the avenues-subscribe ad-
dress with the majordomo as the return address, and the majordomo
would be automatically subscribed. So as it continues you may have
to keep adding more addresses to the ban list, but at least we finally
have someone around to do that! If you would like any help with main-
taining this new list, I would be happy to be a second moderator.

I can prevent that server from joining, but
unfortunately I do not have it's e-mail address. If
someone can give me the complete address (all I have
is majordomo@l) then I will set this list so that it
can't join.

Sorry . . . I should have saved it from ONE of the 534 e-mails I got from
majordomo last night . . . instead I unsubscribed and resubscribed here . .
. thanks for taking the time to set this up -- I appreciate it.
