The Avenues2 mailing list was created to enable discussion about Arthrogryposis and any issue related to Arthrogryposis. Anyone who is interested in discussing this is welcome to join in. This list is not directly associated with the Newsletter "Avenues" (a newsletter for the same purpose), published by Mary Anne and Jim Schmidt, .
This list does not allow attachments, so there is less risk of catching a virus, unlike the other Avenues list.

tendon release for bowing lower leg
Hi Mary & all: From the xrays taken of our son's legs, it appears that his tendons are so tight that they are limiting the growth of his lower leg bones.

Our grandson is 16 months old and had the Achilles tendon lengthening in March of this year to allow his feet to be able to be flat where he can stand

Holly, Yes, Juliet wears the AFO's at night to keep good position of her feet because as you mentioned, with arthrogryposis, the feet tend to want to move back
