This list is meant for people who have, or are related to someone who has, an Autistic Spectrum Disorder (Autism, Asperger's, PDD, Rett's or CDD) along with one or more comorbid disorders. Common comorbid disorders of ASDs include ADD/ADHD, Tourette's Syndrome and Epilepsy/Seizures, but people who are related to ASDs with additional physical impairments, blindness, deafness, other neurological disorders, learning disabilities, mental retardation, Down Syndrome or other developmental disabilities, psychiatric conditions (Depression, Bipolar, OCD etc.), chronic illnesses or any other health problem are also welcome, as well as people who have one or more health conditions and assume they may have an additional ASD.
Here we can discuss how being autistic affects handling the comorbid disorder(s) and how the comorbid disorder(s) influence an autistic person and his/her needs. Come to share your frustrations, sadness, hope and success, exchange information, and support each other.
This list - created by a legally blind adolescent who suspects an additional ASD - is meant for Autistics themselves as well as parents, family members, friends, relatives, teachers, professionals and others interested in or related to ASDs and comorbidity.
