Welcome to the Austin LGBT Salsa community! Our group's goal is to enjoy dancing salsa. We attend social and learning opportunities regularly in a welcoming, safe, and fun environment.

Founded 2/15/07, the Austin Gay and Lesbian Salsa Group and its Yahoo Group were renamed January 2008 to Hot Steppers, Austin's LGBT Salsa Group!

Currently, this group provides information on Salsa opportunities around town friendly to LGBT people. Highlighted is a fun beginner salsa series at Go Dance Studio: http://austinOUTdancing.com/ The current 6-week progressive series ends Sunday April 26th with a salsa party. You are welcome to attend. New developments in the community are underway thanks to the group founder, Michael.

Join us as the group continues to grow into a community group for and by its members. Here's to burning up the dance floor with hot salsa steps!

3. Opportunities located in Austin or greater surrounding metropolitan area

Please note, we understand that many Austin events are LGBT-friendly, but there is currently only one salsa opportunity specifically for our community in and around Austin. For all intents and purposes, this is an LGBT Salsa Group. If you post an opportunity open to the general community, please make sure that it is TRULY LGBT-friendly.
