Description
This Group is intended for Australian METALWORKERS in any discipline, including owners of the various incarnations of the common 9x20 lathe, or the X2 and X3 style minimills. If you have these machines, or your hobby or work includes anodising, casting, EDM, electroplating, electroforming, turning, milling, welding and about anything else, just so it's metalworking you will be welcome. The idea is that local people can give and receive local help.
There is a database set up where you can record your name, email address and City/State. This should make it a bit easier to get and give local help
Actual address and phone number info should be exchanged OFF-LIST ONLY!
There are also databases (by State) listing suppliers used by our members for many of the things we need in our hobbies.
If you are not an Aussie, or are not located in Oz, you can still join - membership is open to all. It's just that there are more member services available for our Aussie members.
The photo above shows the compound on my 9x20 mounted on an aluminium donut (originally designed in steel by John Pitkin on the American 9x20 group).

Re: VFD/3PH motor combo?
GDay All, Dave, I bet your supply can handle a lot more than 10amps, it's the wiring that determines the current handling BTW, besides 12.5 amps is the MAXIMUM

Re: VFD/3PH motor combo?
Hi Andy, Thanks for your reply, I had a look at the Royce Cross web site. The VFD you mention has a 12.5 Amp draw from the 240V input, too high for my wimpy

Re: VFD/3PH motor combo?
Thanks Alan, I am running 240V single phase so most of your info is not applicable, but thanks anyway. Cheers, Dave.
