PLEASE NOTE: THIS GROUP HAS BEEN IN-ACTIVE FOR OVER A YEAR. I AM NOT APPROVING NEW MEMBERS BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO THE GROUP OWNER. SORRY. Kimberly, group moderator
This is a group for beginners in the world of ATC--Artist Trading Cards. Come and lets learn together! Cards of any style are encouraged. Swaps or trades available. People of all skill levels are welcome, but experienced artists should understand that, as new people join--the cards are going to be made by people who may be just learning. Children are more than welcome to participate. Cards need to be 3 1/2 by 2 1/2 inches. Other than that...feel free to let your imagination go wild! If you would like to host a trade or swap, please add it to the database.
Thanks for joining my new group!
Wikipedia definitions:Artist Trading Cards are typically made on a base of card stock. However, ATCs have been created on metal, stiffened fabric, plastic, clay, glass, balsa wood, leather, embroidery canvas, acetate, heavy watercolor paper, and many other materials. The art on the cards can be done in any media: textile arts, pencil, watercolor, acrylic, oil, collage, scratch board, mixed media, assemblage, digital art, calligraphy, beadwork, rubber stamps, carved soft block stamps, pen and ink, colored pencil, airbrush, pastels, and many others - anything artists use.The only standard requirement for an ATC is that its height and width measurements be 2.5" x 3.5", either vertical or horizontal orientation. The sky can be the limit for every other aspect of the art.
In the world of ATCs, there is no thickness limit, either, but people customarily make them thin enough to fit inside the standard card collector pockets, sleeves or sheets.
Some people are sticklers about archival qualities, but art does not necessarily have to be "forever" so many people use whatever materials that fit their artistic needs.
