Again your prediction on the difficulties of Fianna Fail was accurate.

What came most as a surprise to me in the election just past was the implosion
of the Green party. It would be nice to do its chart.

But on the wider context, the parties at the right across Europe fared better
than those at the left, and obviously Green parties are usually leftist.

It will be interesting to see if the Moon in Capricorn in Ireland's chart will
manifest. The lack of maturity of the Irish politicians for the past decade, at
least, has been quite obvious.

some months ago someone high up in the PDs hierarchy wanted towind up the party?
Could it be that this person had a say on thechoice of date of the meeting about
the party's future? Could it bethat this person then asked an astrologer to pick
a date? If so theastrologer picked a perfect date! Yesterday there was a meeting
where party members voted on the partyfuture, so if the meeting had been held at
a different date theoutcome might have been different (though in fairness as
Pluto movesso slowly it would still be conjunct natal Sun if the meeting was
helda few months before or after). Anyway, exact conjunction is this coming
Thursday 13th of November,but if it was desired to have the meeting during the
weekend, thenthis weekend was the most favourable as the aspect is still

This week we are in a waning Moon phase meaning that the Moon is decreasing in
the Sun's reflection, from the sign of Cancer through the sign of Libra.
Correspondingly we should be, ridding ourselves of things we don't use or need
anymore, even by removing negative emotions. There are some who will be happy to
let go of all the unnecessary things in their lives in order to make room for
other things. There will be those people who understand that they may have to
give up something to in order to gain something else. Like giving up sweets to
gain your shape back. , Cleaning out your closets, and cupboards to make way for
new items. Success too requires giving up things, like personal time spent doing
other things. Everything is done this week knowing there's something special to
be gained in letting go and giving up our old ways, structure and trivial
pursuits! The weeks are not confrontational aspects; they are more suggestive of
deep change. Moving from the sign of death and re-birth Scorpio, where we are
confronting those things within ourselves that we would rather not, taking
things to the limit or getting to the brink of disaster, bearing our souls to
others and being striped naked in front of others, to be reborn, healed, and set
free. Like getting your flu shot, like an animal being branded, or being held
accountable for our actions, tested, tried and set free. Once out, we are in the
sign of Sagittarius where we find inspiration, laughter, and new experiences,
and realize things were never as bad as we thought they were. It's been
beautiful to watch the Sun, Mercury and Mars lined up, in the heavens for the
past few months, as we begin our journey to the alignment of 2012. The major

Cant help feeling though that alternative/fine gael leadership will not
be provided by either kenny/bruton...watchout for maverick John Deasy
(my namesake)...! or even eamon gilmore.  Deasy s chart (born 8/10/67)
has the generational ura/plu comjunction being opposed next year by
ura..but more importantly he has saturn crossing his mc in q3 09..and
ura opposing his mc..suggesting unexpected changes to his home life.

The Irish Times poll published on November 14th shows support for
Fianna Fail is at its lowest level (27%) since its polling began 25
years ago. Satisfaction with the government stands at 21%, which is an
alarming indication of lack of confidence in its ability to manage the
State.

Fianna Fail is by far the largest party involved in the current
coalition government, and as such transits to its horoscope will have
astrological relevance regarding government performance.

The party was founded in Dublin on May 16th 1926 (no time).

The most conspicuous feature of a chart set for midday is the Grand
Cross in fixed signs:

Sun - 24Ta29
Jupiter - 25Aq41
Saturn - 22Sc37
Neptune - 22Le02

Aside from what this combination might say about the party's longevity
as the dominant player in Irish politics since 1926 and the character
and style of its whole approach, the Grand Cross is currently on the
receiving end of a major transit from Neptune (21Aq32 as I write).

So far, it is the Neptune opposition by transit to Neptune and square
to Saturn which has come on stream. These began in February-March
2008, and are currently playing themselves out (middle phase
August-September, final phase December-January).

The least one can say is that these periods should coincide with
challenges which test the party's grip on reality (Saturn), the
robustness of the party structure (Saturn), the ability to exercise
responsible government (Saturn), and a significant tension already
implicit in the birth chart between party ideals or fantasies
(Neptune) and what can actually be realised (Saturn).

None of this bodes well for the government's long term ability to deal
with the recession, which has yet to reach its full strength. What is
more, during 2009 Neptune will be square the Fianna Fail Sun. This
begins in February-March, is reprised in July-August, and ends in
January 2010.

On the day the Irish Times poll results were published, the Sun was at
22Sc29, which highlights the Fianna Fail Saturn in particular
(22Sc37), but also Neptune (22Le02). In other words, it highlights the
challenge intrinsic to the horoscope which is being played out in the
party's real world circumstances.

All eyes therefore should be fixed on what emerges in February-March
next year, as the possibility of events which undermine the leadership
of the party (a vote of no confidence in the Dail, a push to dislodge
Brian Cowen?) may well transpire. If not, then the two further stages
of the transit may coincide with severe challenges to the government,
which looks as if it will be particularly vulnerable during 2009.

This is partly because Pluto will be in transit conjunct the Moon in
the Republic of Ireland horoscope during next year, which is the one
most relevant for the 'new' Ireland. This has strong regenerative
connotations, but is also likely to bring to the fore in no uncertain
terms what needs to be transformed in order for necessary regeneration
to occur.

Apart from this backdrop, the horoscope for the current government (I
use the time when Ahern was elected Taoiseach - 16:39, June 14th 2007)
indicates an intrinsic instability.

Moon - 16Ge40
Sun - 23Ge13
Uranus - 18Pi40

The least one could expect from this signature is an erratic quality
in the government's 'style', which would be unlikely to bolster
confidence at a time when a steady hand is what is required. The
astrological theme is amplified if one considers midpoints, which show

Uranus - 18Pi40
AS/MC - 18Vi24 (!!!)
SU/JU - 18Vi31

UR=SU/JU implies rash actions or gambles potentially based on
misplaced confidence or optimism.

The current Saturn-Uranus opposition at around 19 degrees Virgo-Pisces
will align with the government's Sun and Moon at various times from
now and throughout 2009. Saturn too will be in transit opposite the
Government Uranus. In fact, this transit came on stream towards the
end of October in the wake of the budget, when it was also conjunct
the AS/MC and SU/JU midpoints. No surprise then that reality quickly
punctured any government confidence that their gambles would be
successful.

The next phase of this Saturn transit set is in late February and
early March, at a time when Fianna Fail's Neptune transits are in
play. In late March, Saturn will square the government's Moon. Transit
Uranus will also square the government's Sun and semisquare (135) both
its Venus and the MC during March.

At the beginning of September, transit Saturn will square the
government's Sun and semisquare (45) Venus.

This suggests that the government will be under extreme pressure in
March, with the coalition (Venus) under threat. Should the status quo
be maintained, September's pattern indicates a second wave of
challenge to the coalition. Whatever, it would not be at all
surprising to see the government change in coincidence with one or
other of the phases of these Uranus and Saturn transit patterns, with
March being highlighted as a key period for relevant developments in
that regard.

It's almost a certainty that Fianna Fail will not be returned to power
if there is an election in 2009. This is not only evident from real
world circumstances, but is clearly suggested by the astrological
indications in the Fianna Fail horoscope mentioned above.

Their leader, Brian Cowen, was born on January 10 1960 in Clara,
Co.Offaly. At present, he is enjoying (!) a harmonious alignment of
the Saturn-Uranus opposition to his Sun at 19 degrees Capricorn. On
the other hand, transit Saturn has just moved square his Jupiter at
20Sg47, which suggests a phase of difficulty in effective management
between now and next February. Of course, under the current
circumstances, anyone in the position of Taoiseach would have major
problems managing the country.

However, in February and March, Neptune moves semisquare his
Mercury-Saturn conjunction around 10 degrees Capricorn. Because Saturn
rules his Sun, and Mercury rules his Moon (somewhere in Gemini - it
was at 10Ge59 at 12:00 on his birth date), the overall picture is of a
confused Capricorn who will find it difficult to think clearly and
realistically. This, if it manifests as such, will not inspire
confidence at a time when both Fainna Fail and the government itself
are under a lot of astrological 'pressure'.

Recently there have been media rumblings concerning the leadership of
Fine Gael, with question marks hanging over Enda Kenny's ability to
lead effectively during very turbulent times. Fine Gael support has
soared in the polls, though this is hardly anything other than a
reaction to Fianna Fail's woeful efforts so far.

Richard Bruton's name has surfaced as someone who has been a solid
performer as shadow finance minister and who has a widely acknowledged
credibility. It will be interesting to follow what may well be a rise
in prominence for him during 2009.

Bruton was born on March 15th 1953 in Dublin. His Sun is in the 25th
degree of Pisces, and it is most probable that the Moon is also in
that sign (it was at 25Pi09 at 12:00 on his birth date). So he was
born around the Piscean new Moon. His horoscope is not without its
challenges, as the Libra Saturn-Neptune conjunction of that year
opposes his Mars (27 Aries) and quincunxes his Sun. All in all, his
relatively low profile is consistent with the Pisces Sun and Moon,
while Saturn conjunct Neptune might be seen as a 'grounding' signature
which keeps his Piscean nature (Neptune ruled) in touch with reality
(Saturn).

During 2009, transit Uranus will conjunct his Sun and maybe the Moon
also. This has strong connotations of an awakening resulting from
unexpected developments, or a period when Bruton will change his style
and adopt a stronger public profile, moving from the wings to centre
stage (Sun). The Uranus-Sun transit begins at the very end of March,
and overlaps with a transit of Saturn trine Jupiter which reaches its
second phase during March (contrast with Cowen's tSA-90-JU). This
would suggest an opportunity for expansion or advancement, especially
as Jupiter co-rules his Sun and probably Moon.

Whether or not this coincides with a change in his status within Fine
Gael, eventually coming to prominence as Minister for Finance if there
is a change in government would not be surprising. This may happen
during these transits, or if not, as a result of his performance in
whatever form during 2009.

Lastly, and as predicted from December 2006, the PDs finally dissolved
themselves on cue as Pluto made its final pass across the PD Sun
(29Sg34) in early November. There was any number of other challenging
transits in play at the time (UR-90-UR, SA-90-UR, SA-45-MA, UR-135-MA,
etc.).

that some months ago someone high up in the PDs hierarchy wanted to
wind up the party? Could it be that this person had a say on the
choice of date of the meeting about the party's future? Could it be
that this person then asked an astrologer to pick a date? If so the
astrologer picked a perfect date!

Yesterday there was a meeting where party members voted on the party
future, so if the meeting had been held at a different date the
outcome might have been different (though in fairness as Pluto moves
so slowly it would still be conjunct natal Sun if the meeting was held
a few months before or after).

Anyway, exact conjunction is this coming Thursday 13th of November,
but if it was desired to have the meeting during the weekend, then
this weekend was the most favourable as the aspect is still applying
