Welcome to assistance-dogs!
This e-mail list was established to talk about topics concerning trained (or in training) assistance dogs that perform tasks to assist a disabled people with their disability. Therefore, guide dogs for those with visual disability, hearing dogs for those with hearing disability and service dogs for all other disabilities are included. Topics about training or using assistance dogs, access issues, legislative or other issues common to assistance dog teams are welcome.

Our thanks to Quint Meenen who moved the assistance-dog list to yahoo. Quint was devoted to the assistance dog movement.
Our thanks also to Miriam Clifford for her many years of work devoted to this list, formerly called service-dogs. Thanks too, to Duke University which housed the list.
This is a high volume list. No flaming of individuals is permitted. Disagreement with a point of view is fine; calling names is not. Respect for various opinions is a hallmark of this group. Post ads elsewhere - not here. Please do not address your post to more than one list.
