Welcome to Aspen Grove. The banner has been raised!
Aspen Grove Beltane
When: Saturday, May 5 2012,
Time: 6 PM
Where: Crone's Hollow, 2470 S. Main St. Salt Lake City
Spring is here! For many of us, this means a relief from the cold, dark days and snows of winter. As the days lengthen and get warmer, we are greeted by the rebirth of the earth itself: bulbs come up and bloom, filling the air with their heady, tempting fragrance; birds chirp and sing as they return from their winter migrations to build their nests; cats yowl out their urgent readiness for motherhood. All around us are symbols of fertility, growth, warmth and light.
Any fruit is appropriate for a Beltane spread, especially cherries, figs,
mangoes, peaches, pomegranates, and apricots, which have all been long
associated with sensuality and/or fertility. Spring greens are another healthy way to imply fertility and celebrate springtime.
Please bring noise makers, drums, and a potluck to share for the feast
afterwords. All may come as you are or wear your ritual attire if you wish.
Flowers, herbs and incense are welcome for the altar.
Herbs: All-heal, blessed thistle, broom, curry, daffodil, dogwood, coriander, dragon's blood reed, fern, fireweed, nettle, flaxseed, hawthorn, marjoram, paprika, radish, rue, snapdragon, mushroom, almond, meadowsweet, rose, woodruff, tansy, elder leaves.
Incense: Rose, jasmine, ylang-ylang, peach, musk, or vanilla.
It will be outside on the back patio providing the weather is good, if not it will be in Roy's Room. Please plan on the usual ritual donation of $10.00 to help with the costs of space--however, no one will be turned away for lack of funds. Children who can maintain attention and focus on a ritual for about an hour are welcome. See you at Beltane!
