held today at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles, actress
Bai Ling and producer/Asian Excellence Awards Committee co-chair
Teddy Zee announced the nominees for "The 2006 Asian Excellence
Awards Featuring the Remy Martin® X.O Honors." The show, which
honors outstanding achievements of Asians and Asian Americans in
entertainment, music, and science, will air on AZN Television, the
channel for Asian America, for the first time on Sunday, January 29
at 8:00 p.m. EST/PST.

"The 2006 Asian Excellence Awards Featuring the Remy Martin® X.O
Honors" will be hosted by Kelly Hu (actress, "X-Men II," "The
Scorpion King") and Bobby Lee (actor/comedian, "Harold & Kumar Go to
White Castle").
Remy Martin, the principal sponsor of the show, will present three
special honors during the program. The Remy Martin® X.O Honors will
be presented for Inspiration (Dr. David D. Ho), Visibility (Lucy
Liu) and Bridge (Quentin Tarantino). A Lifetime Achievement honor
will be posthumously awarded to filmmaker Ismail Merchant by AZN
Television and Remy Martin, with special tributes from actors who
have participated in various Merchant/Ivory productions, including
Naomi Watts, Ralph Fiennes and Natasha Richardson.
In addition, The Asian Excellence Awards will include a special
tribute to the late Pat Morita, featuring comments from the prolific
actor's co-star Ralph Macchio, who starred with Morita in the
successful "Karate Kid" movies, and a performance by Fort Minor.
Also participating in the show will be, Earvin "Magic" Johnson (NBA
Champion and Humanitarian), Bai Ling (actress "Lords of
Dogtown," "Anna and the King"), Jason Scott Lee (actor "Dragon: The

The "2006 Asian Excellence Awards Featuring the Remy Martin® X.O
Honors" will be taped at the legendary Wiltern LG Theatre in
Hollywood, California and will air on AZN Television on the first
day of the Lunar New Year, January 29, 2006, 8:00 p.m. Welly Yang,
Syd Vinnedge and Peilin Chou are Executive Producers of the show.
Veteran awards show producer Greg Sills serves as the Supervising
Producer for the show.
