MTV spinoff cable channel MTV2 has promoted Carol Eng to senior vp
programming and development. A 17-year veteran of the network whose
production credits include "The Real World" and "Taildaters," Eng
most recently was senior vp original programming at MTV. She will
lead the expanded development process in place for MTV2 and will
report to David Cohn, general manager of MTV2, and Tom Calderone,
executive vp music and talent programming at MTV and MTV2. (Staff

MTV2 announced Tuesday that Carol Eng will serve as senior veep of
programming and development, a newly created position.
She will assist MTV2 general manager David Cohn and MTV and MTV2
exec VP of music and talent programming Tom Calderone and remain in
New York.
"MTV is growing both in terms of distribution and creativity," Cohn
said. "We're looking for Carol and her team to take MTV2 to the next
level by developing new shows and concepts that will build upon
MTV2's strong music foundation and equally strong connection to our
audience."
Eng formerly acted as senior veep of original programming for MTV,
supervising skeins such as "The Real World," "Making the Band,"
and "Sorority Life." Also, she has produced MTV events 'The Video
Music Awards," "Spring Break," and "New Year's Eve."
Her 17-year career at MTV networks began in the production
department. When she transitioned to original series in 1996, she
contributed to supervising skeins such
as "BioRhythm," "Jackass," "Fanatic" and "The Tom Green (news)
Show."
MTV2 focuses on new music and breaking artists from various genres
and reaches almost 55 million homes.
