Virato's guest today, Len Saputo, MD, is a 1965 graduate of Duke University Medical School, board certified in internal medicine. Dr. Saputo was in private practice in affiliation with John Muir Medical Center in the San Francisco Bay Area for more than 30 years. After his awakening to the deep flaws in conventional medicine which culminated in the early 1990s, Saputo began a quest to develop a new approach to healing now known as integral-health medicine—the emergent medical care model that is integrative, holistic, person-centered, and preventive.
In order to further this mission, Dr. Saputo founded the Health Medicine Forum in 1994 and was its director until 2008.
He is the co-author of Boosting Immunity: Creating Wellness Naturally; has edited six books, including Beating the Years and Boosting Your Digestive Health; and has authored book chapters on numerous medical and health subjects. He has contributed dozens of articles on a wide range of topics in both mainstream and complementary and alternative medicine to such journals as California Pharmacist, Alternative Medicine, and Townsend Letter. He is also actively engaged in clinical research related to the use of near-infrared light therapy in pain management.
With never-ending support from his wife, Saputo is committed to his life’s purpose of changing the health care system in America from a disease care model to a genuine health care model based on the principles of the new medicine, as well as broad-ranging reform of the manner in which care is financed and delivered.

I've written to you in the past expressing how much I love listening to your show via the computer. Just this past weekend I went to listen to your most recent show about Universal Tao and when I press 'Listen', a small square screen comes up showing a short commercial, and then when it appears as though the show is about to begin the whole screen/website crashes the Firefox system and I have to restart Firefox. If I attempt it again the same thing happens. My son who is better computer savvy then me said it's the site not our computer. I'm not having any other similar problems with other similar sites that I listen to. Can you offer any help or advice or someone at your station who may know what the problem is?? I've had no problems since I've been listening to you beginning two years ago.
Thanks, Gary From NJ
If you are experiencing this, be sure you have the latest browser. I use Microsoft Explorer 8. And here is a message from our Chief Engineer:
Listening to the podcasts right now with Firefox. No problem connecting. Please point Gary to www.Mozilla.com and ask him to download the latest version of Firefox.
I’m listening with version 3.0.14 but they are up to 3.5.5. The download is free.
Generally these problems are browser-related on the user’s end. Having the latest version should clear things up.

Yes, the article is strong, and my love for people, and to balance out the pervasive propaganda put out by the billion dollar food industry and particularly the fast food industry, needs something strong.
Please tell Rosie to run it even if she has to run a disclaimer.

Virato's guest is William Gladstone, author of The Twelve a novel about 2012.

Many of us feel that huge changes are at hand.

Virato's guests today are Michael Jawer and Marc Micozzi
“In its zealousness to explore the brain, contemporary neuroscience is missing the boat – namely the body,” asserts emotion researcher Michael Jawer in The Spiritual Anatomy of Emotion. “Of even greater importance than the brain is the degree of connectedness between head, heart, and all the bodily systems. That’s the real key to personality, and to the quality of our lives.”
Jawer has spent the past 10 years delving into the subject of how bodily feeling underlies consciousness – and how the energy of feelings plays an integral role in immunity, stress reactions, and numerous psychosomatic conditions, Most startlingly, he and his coauthor, Marc Micozzzi, MD, PhD, argue that paranormal perception -- apparitions, telepathy, poltergeist disturbances, and ‘out of body’ experience -- also arises from distortions in the way individuals process feeling. “Although they have long resisted explanation, each of these phenomena involves a discernable pattern and is amenable to scientific inquiry,” Jawer posits.
Jawer has, over the last twenty years, written on diverse subjects for trade and professional associations as well as the Federal government. Quoted in the Wall Street Journal and New York Times, he has even composed remarks delivered verbatim by a sitting U.S. President.
Jawer has diligently applied this strength in the development of The Spiritual Anatomy of Emotion. Sifting through reams of research in disciplines ranging from biology to anthropology, he consulted with numerous scientific authorities and conducted his own research – findings that have been published in a trio of peer-reviewed journals. The result is an entirely fresh take on the mind, on emotion, on immunity -- on all the elements that make us sentient and, indeed, human.
Marc Micozzi, MD, PhD is a national leader in the emerging field of complementary, alternative and integrative medicine and is medical editor for The Spiritual Anatomy of Emotion. He is professor of physiology and biophysics at the Georgetown University School of Medicine.
Dr. Micozzi was the founding editor-in-chief of the Journal of Complementary and Alternative Medicine: Research on Paradigm, Practice and Policy and organized and edited the first U.S. textbook, Fundamentals of Complementary & Alternative Medicine, now in its fourth edition.
Dr. Micozzi has organized and chaired continuing education conferences on the theory, science and practice of complementary and alternative medicine, and co-chaired these conferences with former Surgeon General C. Everett Koop and Dr. Dean Ornish.
Dr. Micozzi completed his medical and graduate training at the University of Pennsylvania and served as executive director of the Center for Integrative Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He also served as Executive Director of the College of Physicians of Philadelphia.
Based in Washington DC, he now works to educate policymakers, health professions, and the general public about needs and opportunities for integrative medicine to benefit all Americans.
Dr. Micozzi has been quoted widely in the New York Times, Washington Post, Miami Herald, Chicago Tribune, and the Los Angeles Times, and has appeared on Good Morning America, CBS EveningNews, CNN, C-SPAN, and NPR.
Could the marriage of science and spirituality answer the deepest mysteries of our past, while solving the problems that threaten our future? A growing body of evidence suggests that the answer to this question is an empowering “YES!”
Virato's guest today is New York Times Best selling author Gregg Braden who has been a featured guest for international conferences and media specials exploring the power of science and spirituality.
A former Senior Computer Systems Designer for Martin Marietta Aerospace, Computer geologist for Phillips Petroleum, and the Technical Operations Manager for Cisco Systems, Braden is considered a pioneer in bridging the wisdom of our past with the science, healing and peace of our future.
For more than 20 years Gregg has searched high mountain villages, remote monasteries, ancient temples, and forgotten texts to uncover their timeless secrets. His search led to the 2004 release of his paradigm-shattering book, The God Code, revealing words of the ancient message coded into the DNA of all life.
Since 1998 Braden's journeys into the monasteries of central Tibet revealed a forgotten form of prayer that was lost during the biblical edits of the early Christian Church. In his book, Secrets of the Lost Mode of Prayer, he documents this mode of prayer that has no words or outward expression, yet gives us direct access to the quantum force that connects all things.
Virato's guest this morning, Michelle Payton, says she remembers "ah ha moments" as far as back as age 7 when her father made his first sexual advances and she chose not to be another of his many victims.
Her website says she blends holistic and clinical studies to understand why you do what you do, and how you can release what no longer serves you using mind over matter techniques. She does this through individual sessions, telephone and on-site workshops.
Payton says she combines relaxation techniques using various modalities including Hypnotherapy, Past Live Regression, Emotional Freedom Technique, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Acupressure, and Hypnotherapy along with more esoteric techniques as personality assessment with Astrology, Numerology, and Birth Order
The author of six books on Astrology, Numerology, Birth Order, Hypnosis/Self-Hypnosis, Emotional Freedom Technique, and Self-Empowerment, Payton says she helps people to work from their heart centers as "Now Age" parents, partners, professionals, and individuals.
