Hi Linda,
re: sugar
Last year was the 100th Anniversary of the Zucker
Musuem, Berlin. As part of the celebration the museum
hosted a mail art exhibition. I made post cards and
sent them off but never heard back until 2 weeks ago
when a fabulous catalogue arrived. My pcs are in it.
I've always enjoyed making mail art and ATCs make
collecting easy, fun and interactive.

I did send my 18 cards for the Moody Arts Centre and they let me know that they received them. I asked them to trade them for me. I will send off the lighthouse series tomorrow and anything you choose from your cards will be wonderful. My son just returned from a trip to Belgium and Germany regarding his hobby and trading, i.e., sugar packet collecting. He had a great trip and met some wonderful people. Isn't it wonderful that we can share our lives with so many international people. Wishing you a sweet and creative day.

Hi Linda and anyone else interested in participating in this upcoming
show in Vancouver.
I wrote to the Guest Curator, Bill Thompson: billarts@..., to
ask about postage for people outside of Canada.
Please send a Self Addressed Envelope with perhaps $3.00 cash for the
return of cards. Bill suggests $5 but I don't think it costs that much
to mail back 18 cards in sleaves.
If you want the hosts to blind trade for you then do indicate that on
the application which is a downloadable pdf file:
http://www.pomoartscentre.bc.ca/mainpage/index.htm
Please note the correct post code: V3H 3B2
Best, Linda
Hi Linda,
Please email the guest curator Bill Thomson at
billarts@...
Most likely you can send $2.00 cash with
your ATCs. As any submissions from outside Canada
could only be returned with Canadian postage.
I have 18 cards ready to send to the Port Moody Arts
Centre.

cards. I'll keep 'Anything' as a monthly exchange.

My name is Linda and I'm from Denmark. I'm 42, married and have 3
girls. I'm interested in all sorts of crafts, have mostly been doing
applique but a couple of months ago I discoverd Atc's and started
making them - that is quite a lot of fun. Right now I owe a lot of
people a gift or some Danish ephemera so I will not take part in swaps
before I have done that - gotte save my postage-money :-)
Glad to be here.
Hugs, Linda
Since there is one more Linda, I'll in the future call me "Linda DK"
Hi Cindy,
It's quite ok to post a link to your trades.

If 3 people sign up for the trades

cards then you will get 3 of mine back. As you can

I have kept the exchange at 3 cards as it is not

Hello all my name is Cindy and I am a mixed media artist living in

and techniques is greatly stimulating for me. I look forward to

Hi Everyone,
Thank you for joining this yahoo group. I have added two more themes
for trading:
Bead, the Venerable, 3 cards do by May 3,
Shoes, 3 cards due by May 17
The Canadian theme is changed to Anything ATC, 3 cards for 3
If you have friends who want to trade on any of the above topics they
are most welcome. Hopefully some of you will want to host trades too.
Email if you have any questions or suggestions, as this is a learning
process for me too. BTW the cards that you all make and trade with me
are awesome.
Thanks, Linda
Hello, everyone! Linda invited me to check out this trading site and
I am interested in the tea ATC swap! I love to make ATC's and just
recently received my first set of STC's (Sister Trading Cards from
Cat Schick in Switzerland). Since that was my first international
swap, it was very interesting to see such varied ideas.
I am from Canton, Ohio and love collage AND rubber stamping. So, if
some of my rubber stamps find their way into my ATC's, I make no
apology. I feel they sometimes give that finishing touch that makes
the card complete.
Looking forward to many fun swaps with this group! Joy
Hello -
If I join a themed swap I expect to send a SASE or money for postage. This
is the way it is on most groups. If I do a 3/3 or 5/5 individual trade, then
each artist pays to send their own cards of course. But, if I was to host a
swap I would expect eveyrone to send enough postage (not worried much about
an envelope - probably less weight without). I think this is imperative if
you have members living outside your country of origin. I am Canadian & it
is quite costly for us to send either to the US-85 cents per or overseas -
$1.45 & most of the groups I am in have members worldwide. I am co-manager
of an ATC site & our manager asks for postage. I have no problem sending
postage & I wouldn't host a swap without being able to ask for it.
Hope this helps. By the way, are you independently wealthy? Ha!
Cheers
Gail

There seems to be some issue over the request for money and

paying for their own postage. This keeps the mail light

This group was started by Linda Ward Selbie in Toronto just a short time ago. I'm sure she's flexible about her ideas, but why don't you check with her about the theme thing?

My name is Gail & I live in Trail, B.C. Its good to see a new Canadian ATC group. My friend Leola (from Saskatchewan) just started a new ATC group on msn of which I am co-manager. Now, just to clarify my understanding of this particular group - it is for themed swaps only? Where do I find the swaps & how do I suggest or start one? HELP! I am not too good at navigating Yahoo! Sometimes I have difficulty even signing in! Do I have to go to the Database? Hmmm ... anyway I'd love to know what swaps are currently posted & I would love to post one ... have several ideas ...
Thanks for the invitation Linda - by the way my cards are in the mail to you. Hope you like them!
Thanks for the follow-up Linda. I've been collecting for some time & I hate
to admit it, but I have my share of stamps ... but I wouldn't re-trade my
cards like some are starting to do (I see a new group started up, just for
Second-Generation Trades). And I agree about setting examples. Several
people who have received my work, have queried me further about techniques;
etc. and I never mind passing along information or knowledge. But
unfortunately, there are some traders whom guess are traded out. I have
suggested to traders when they post their ATCs to put a small description
underneath stating the medium used. And, that when one is in the process of
making or asking for trades, one should stipulate what it is they are
looking for - ie. original works, or whatever.
Glad you replied as I didn't want to be sitting here with my foot in my
mouth! I guess there are many opinions/differences out there in the ATC
world & people just have to decide what is right for them. Me - I will trade
anyone! Anytime!
Okay, well, I am going now. One suggestion I have for a swap is James Dean
(I know you are probably not old enough to even know who he is - I barely am
- but I do know his movies; his story. This year marks the 50th year since
his death & there are all kinds of things going on. Let me know what you
think.
Cheers & good luck with the new group! One day i will figure out how to
navigate it! I suffer from sometimers & brain fog occasionally!

Hi Gail,
Theme Swaps are in the Database.
This site is new and will take a little while
to get off the ground.
I am happy to trade 3 for 3, random cards.
You can post your own requests for trades on
the database too. It's easy to post. If you
make a mistake email me and I'll make
corrections.
If you have any tips or suggestions please
let me know.
Thanks for joining and I'll look forward
to trading with you.

My name is Gail & I live in Trail, B.C. Its good to see a new Canadian
ATC group. My friend Leola (from Saskatchewan) just started a new ATC
group on msn of which I am co-manager. Now, just to clarify my
understanding of this particular group - it is for themed swaps only?
Where do I find the swaps & how do I suggest or start one? HELP! I am
not too good at navigating Yahoo! Sometimes I have difficulty even
signing in! Do I have to go to the Database? Hmmm ... anyway I'd love
to know what swaps are currently posted & I would love to post one ...
have several ideas ...
Thanks for the invitation Linda - by the way my cards are in the mail
to you. Hope you like them!
Cheers
Gail in Trail
