ArtCharms is a dynamic group of artists and collectors dedicated to creating, swapping, collecting, selling, celebrating and learning about Art Charms. Be warned though: The real "charm" of this group is more about the connections and friendships that are created and less about "the art."
Art Charms are small works of art made to be worn or displayed in a small space. They are high quality one-of-a-kind or limited edition mixed media pieces, usually between ¼” and 4” long. Hand-made and utterly collectible, Art Charms are a compact, fun, and affordable way to collect and enjoy original works of art from a great variety of sources.
Hosted by Christine (hurricaneem) and Peggy (artandsoultoo), coauthors of Making Mixed Media Art Charms, the ArtCharms group conducts Art Charm swaps and challenges, and provides technical support, advice, inspiration and news for Art Charm aficionados, whether they’re artists or collectors.
What should our members expect? We're here to have fun. We like to make art charms. We like to explore themes with our art, and then share it with our like-minded friends through swaps and round-robins. We like to experiment with new skills, techniques, and media, and we like to share our pictures and/or knowledge with our like-minded friends...because only another mixed media charm artist can truly understand our unique brands of creative frustration and creative delight!
We are each of us pioneers, both with our art form AND with our communication form. For pioneers, the road is not yet paved, so there are a few bumps along the way. Patience, kindness, and good humor help make the bumps bearable.
To each of our wonderful members, thank you for joining us! We're *very* glad you're here - no matter WHAT skill sets or skill levels you currently experience.
