This club is for the former members and their families of the 62nd MRU/DPU that was based at Ft. Amador, CZ & Detachment #1 at Ft. Brooke, PR. The 62nd MRU/DPU served as the "Statistical Heart of the Army Caribbean Command." The 62nd MRU (Machine Records Unit) was activated 1 Apr 43 at Quarry Heights and later moved to Building 45 at Ft. Amador. 1 Jul 60, it was redesignated as the 62nd DPU (Data Processing Unit). Building 45 was a two story building near the American Legion Club that overlooked the Pacific side entrance to the Panama Canal.
