Here is the schedule for the 2009 RC tank battles that will take
place at the Tank Museum in Danville, VA.
Jan 3rd, 2009 - Bring in the new year with a "fun run" sponsored by
H*E*A*T - see info on the HEAT website. This event is always fun and
full of new surprises.
March 13, 14 & 15th - Welcome spring with H*E*A*T's "Spring Open" -
more info will be forth coming on HEAT's website about this great
event. This is also a great time to bring out all those new projects
that you have been working on all winter long to show them off.
April 24, 25 & 26th (Tank Museum Extravaganza) hosted by H*E*A*T and
the "Tank Buffs". This event is a not to miss event. Many great
battles, interaction with the public, weapon and vehicle demos, tank
crushing car excitement and so much more. One lucky tanker will be
picked to ride in the tank that crushes the car! – How cool is that!
June 26, 27 & 28 – hosted by the Tank Museum –"D-Day" this early
summer event will be full of great battle scenarios and lots of
tanker talk. Info about this and other Tank Museum RC battle events
can be found on the museum's website, along with rules &
regulations, registration form and points system. Some lucky tanker
could go home with a $100 gift certificate at the end of the year.
September 11, 12 & 13 – hosted by the Tank Museum – "Operation
Market Garden" get those batteries charged, your tank in tip top
shape and your adrenalin charge for the winter months ahead at this
fall battle day. Lots of fun for everyone.
November 6, 7, & 8th – hosted by H*E*A*T & the "Tank Buffs" –
"Operation Torch" This event takes place during the Tank Museum's
Indoor Car & Bike show, and your last chance to battle til you drop
before winter sets in.
Mark your calendars for these wonderful events that are scheduled at
the Tank Museum's 6,000 sq. foot indoor battle field. Work benches
with storage space and electric, clean environment, great spectator
turn out, day and night time battles, rain or shine the events go
on, great hobby and tech talk, repair parts available, host hotel @
$54 per night (special rate for tankers 434-836-1700). Looking
forward to seeing old and new faces alike in 2009!
