Carpies & Shoopers: Identifying Accipiters in Your Back Yard
Correctly
identifying accipiters in your backyard, working the feeders, can be
quite challenging, even to "experts." This workshop will present a
variety of photos of Sharp-shinned and Cooper's Hawks and challenge you
to discern the differences and ultimately identify the species. This is
not a lecture; all participants will be expected to discuss what they
see with other (sometimes all) members of the group. Because everyone will be expected to talk, the workshop is limited to 15
participants. Bringing field guides, notes, digital ID apps, and even
your binoculars is optional. A sense of humor is required.
