The snow is about gone and orienteering season starts in less than two
weeks!
Read below for more about:
* season opener events
* outside meets
* joining the club
* new email procedure (important)
--> season opener events <--
The first meet of the year will be Wednesday, May 5th in Palmer. The
first event in town will be the May 6th classroom training followed by
National Orienteering Day at Campbell Creek Science Center on Saturday
the 8th, both great events for newcomers. See details and the entire
2004 Schedule at our web site (link below).
--> outside meets <--
There are also some great orienteering events taking place Outside [of
Alaska] this spring & summer, including the Canadian Championships next
door in Whitehorse in mid July. Quite a few club members will be taking
advantage of the opportunity. Links on our web site.
--> joining the club <--
Because of sharp increases in city park user fees and our insurance
premium, the board raised the event fees for the first time in many
years. They are still very reasonable. The membership fees remain
ultra-low (at least for now) and get you a dollar off each meet per
adult. A season pass saves you even more and includes membership. You
can join the club by filling out the simple form available at any event
or at our web site. This form (with important contact information and
the accompanying release) needs to be filled out by anyone wishing to
participate even if they don't want to join.
--> new email procedure <--
This message was sent via Yahoo groups, so you are using the new
procedure! See the links at the very bottom to change your options. If
you have any questions or problems with the new procedure, reply to this
email.
See you out there!
