Welcome interested parent!
Respect for Children. Support for Parents. Outreach to Our Community.
This is the online discussion group for Attachment Parenting International (API)-Snohomish County Chapter, a support group for families. We welcome everyone interested in learning about attachment parenting to our meetings.
Our day meeting is on the 2nd Monday of the month from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Our meetings are located at the Pregnancy Resource Center in Everett (4310 Hoyt Avenue).
Snohomish County API is a free, child-friendly, peer-led parent support group that offers meetings featuring educational topics and discussions on common parenting issues such as pregnancy, birth, sleep, emotions, health, nursing, separation, secure attachments, positive discipline, nutrition, AP for the school-age child, education, child development, bullying, family balance and more. We also offer family potlucks, playgroups and book clubs. For further information on these extra events, please contact Marianne, skwerlames@w-link.net.
Attachment Parenting (AP) is a philosophy based in the practice of nurturing parenting methods that create strong emotional bonds, also known as secure attachment, between the child and parent(s). This style of parenting encourages responsiveness to the child's emotional needs, and develops trust that their emotional needs will be met.
API promotes parenting tools that are not the typical one-size-fits-all because we recognize that each family is unique. You do not have to practice all aspects of AP to join our group or attend our meetings.
API is a 501(c)(3) non-profit member organization, networking with parents, professionals and like-minded organizations around the world.
