Hooray for new management!
I might actually check this group from time to time again.
I need to start selling disks again, my boxes are over-flowing.
The Aol Disk Collectors Yahoo Group is now under new management. I
hope to be able to keep this group more current than it has been in
the past.
I have been a collector for about 5 years now and have thousands of
AOL disks and cds from 1.0 through current. I have lots of duplicates
and would love to start a trading thread in the group soon.
I hope many of you will want to pull your collections out of storage
and visit here more often. If you have any ideas with what you would
like from this site, please post them. Thanks!!
Matthan
Hey group!! I've been actively collecting for about 3 years. It all started
when I was doing my spring cleaning and in every junk drawer, basket and 'mail
cubby' I found aol discs!! It was about 15 to start and has grown to about 80.
My entire collection is on sale on ebay starting today. I have some old, some
new, maybe some rare from what I see on the web....a mix of everything....and
ALL are in their original packaging...cellophane intact...never opened. All were
put into a large back pack upon receipt and only taken out twice to catalog the
collection.
I've given them to my 16 year old daughter's step-mother to auction off to
raise money for her and my daughter. See, her father died two years ago, and the
government, in all its wisdom, figures now that she's 16, her
guardian...(stepmother) no longer needs money to support her... so, their income
has recently been cut by $1100 per month. I do pay support, but it isn't nearly
that much.
She has been selling on ebay for a few months and the income is kept in paypal
for unexpected expenses, like car trouble, medical bills, etc.
My girl's stepmother is amazing for taking on the responsibility of raising my
girl after her father passed, is back in school full time plus to become more
self sufficient, but is struggling right now. My daughter had lived with her
father and his wife for 6.5 years before he passed, and we decided to keep
normalcy and routine in her life, she would stay there.
So, if you're thinking of adding to your collection, there are about 80 cd's
coming up for auction on ebay, listed for a dollar a piece.
Just asking for your help and that if you're going to buy anyway, buy from
rocketcookiepepper. Oh, and don't tell her I told you all this....she would be
embarrassed.
Thanks,
Bonnie

AOL discs in tin and wood casings, and other highly collectible aol

Hi,
I keep hearing about people being sent unsolicited AOL CDs or any

does it happen worldwide and if it's the latter, how can I get in on
the action. :D
Would be interested in getting them CDs in the mail as well.

So far, I've received an offer of $25 (plus shipping) for my collection.

Just listed a bunch of these on eBay, 3.5 floppys as well as CD Roms,
many still in original mailer packages and sealed. If you are looking
for any older disks have a look:

Only 19 hours (give or take a few when you read this) left on my AOL 4.0 / Tiger
Woods PGA Tour 2000 CD for sell on e-Bay. And it is going for only .99 + S & H
right now. So if you want it get it quick. I have 4 or 5 more, including
several AOL employee only Beta CD's posting this Sunday at 7 PM Pacific time.
Here is a link to my
