What: Protest against the Bush agenda outside his speech
at the 3M corporation
When: Thursday 2/2 @ 10:30 AM
Where: We will try to congregate along the west side of McKnight
Road, just
north of I-94, in an open area along the road. That puts us facing the
3M property which is on the other, east side, of the road. Some people
are also meeting at the Holiday Inn just south of I-94.
They will walk about a block north, under I-94, to get to the rally.
Bush will speak at 3M, today, starting some time between 11am and noon.
Protests are being organized by Women Against Military Madness,
MoveOne, the DFL, and many other groups. The largest number of people
will be there from 10:30 to 11:30am, with some arriving as early as
9:30am.
The 3M headquarters is a huge complex starting at the NE corner of I-94
and McKnight Road in Maplewood, about 4 miles east of downtown St.
Paul. We have no idea which building in this complex will be the venue
for the speech. In any case, we will have to protest at a spot outside
the 3M property. We can not be sure exactly where we will be allowed to
protest, so the following plans give a meeting place where you will
probably find us.
To get there, take I-94 east past St. Paul. Take the exit for McKnight
Road north. After the cloverleaf exit, pass under I-94, and turn left
onto the frontage road that runs along the north side of I-94. Just a
short distance west of McKnight Road is a strip mall where we should be
able to find parking.
If we have to move, we hope to be close enough that you can find us.
Please come!
