INTRODUCING THE ZENKAIKON LARP

Zenkaikon is pleased to announce that for the first time it will be featuring
LARP as part of its official convention events!

What is "LARP"? It stands for "Live-Action Role Play", a game where you'll be
playing as your favorite anime and manga characters. Hundreds are available for
you to play. The game will run the course of the weekend, featuring an
overarching plot and scheduled events, so you can attend as much or as little as
you like. LARP is not a cosplay event, meaning you do not need to be in costume
to attend. You don't even need to be dressed as the character you'd be playing.
However, if you want to, you're more than welcome to.

In the months approaching Zenkaikon, we will take preregistration for the game.
This means you can reserve a character ahead of time. Any characters not in our
database can be requested and will be ready for you to play at the convention.
If you don't preregister, don't worry. You can still pick up a character Friday
or Saturday and jump right in. On Friday afternoon before the game begins, an
informational meeting will be held to explain the rules and character sheets to
anyone new to the game. New players are welcome!

The first discount pre-registration deadline for Zenkaikon V is only a few days
away! Pre-register by July 19, 2010 to save up to $15 on a three-day pass, and

All pre-registrants will be able to pick up their badges on Thursday evening.
Check in the night before, and start enjoying the convention as soon as it opens
on Friday!

convention. Mr. Haberkorn voices roles in many popular series including Ouran

Todd Haberkorn is a proud member of the anime community and continues to be its
humble servant by way of English dubbing. Haberkorn received his BFA in acting
from Southern Methodist University and continues to work professionally,
primarily in Texas and surrounding states, as an actor, director, producer, and
writer. Catch Todd's voice as lead roles in Sgt. Frog as Keroro, Suzuka as
Yamato, Ghost Hunt as Naru, Claymore as Raki, xxxHolic as Watanuki, D. Gray Man

Zenkaikon V Gofer Applications Now Open

Would you like a behind-the-scenes look at an anime convention? Are you
at least sixteen years of age? Would you like to help make Zenkaikon V
the best one yet?

Then, Zenkaikon wants you to apply to be a gofer!

What a Gofer Does

Gofers help con staff with event set up, line control, badge checking,
guiding attendees, running video and gaming equipment, workshops,
panels, the masquerade, break down and clean up.

What a Gofer Does Not Do

What a Gofer does not do is handle money, function as a security guard
or undermine the integrity of Zenkaikon or its affiliates.

What You Get Out of It

Now you might be asking yourself, "What's in it for me?" Well, depending
on how many hours of your life you are willing to give, you get:


     *     For every 4 hours worked, a meal voucher.
     *     For 6 hours worked, half of your registration reimbursed.
     *     For 12 hours worked, a full registration reimbursement.
     *     For 16 hours worked, a "Zenkaikon V" T-shirt.
     *     For 20 hours worked, hotel reimbursement of up to $25 a night
(a maximum reimbursement of 2 nights) or $50 Zenkaikon merchandise booth
voucher. (Zenkaikon does not provide housing for gofers/volunteers.)

Zenkaikon Gofer Requirements


     *     You must be registered for Zenkaikon.
     *     You must have valid picture ID.
     *     You must be at least 16 years old by March 17, 2011.
     *     You must submit a Gofer application and be approved.
     *     You must go through a mandatory Gofer briefing before starting
your first shift.
     *     You must submit the required number of validated work hours to
Zenkaikon Gofer Ops for meal vouchers and reimbursements.

Nexus Gaming Alliance to Host the Zenkaikon V Game Room!

We're happy to announce that the Nexus Gaming Alliance

Zenkaikon V! The NGA will use its experience running game rooms at a
variety of other events, including Anime USA, Tsubasacon, and Archon, to

Gelatine Announced as Musical Guest at Zenkaikon V

We're excited to announce the five-person band Gelatine as a musical
guest at our 2011 convention! Led by their lead singer, Seiko, this
"horrific, comical, punkish, crazy Japanese rock group" combines
a variety of influences into an intense, energetic show. They look
forward to performing at Zenkaikon!

About Gelatine:
Gelatine is one of the most consistently entertaining bands in New York.
They're a rock band who seem to mix influences of classical,
Japanese traditional, metal, and cartoons, into a rowdy and enjoyable
listening experience. As for their ability to play their instruments,
they're technically quite impressive, but their secret weapon is

About Zenkaikon:
Since 2006, Zenkaikon has been  bringing quality  Japanese animation
(anime), comics (manga), and  popular culture themed  events to the
Philadelphia area. The convention  is staffed completely by  volunteers,
who want to share their  appreciation for these mediums with  the
Philadelphia region. Zenkaikon  features a variety of activities
including anime and live action  screenings, video and tabletop gaming,
special guests, costume  competitions, panels, concerts, vendors, and
more. Starting as a small  one-day event, the convention has grown
rapidly to welcome nearly two  thousand attendees in 2009. The Zenkaikon
staff wishes to thank all the  attendees who have supported and helped

Come join the Delaware Anime Society (and especially our Wilmington Chapter) for
an afternoon of fun at the Brandywine Hundred Library!
 
Date & Time: Saturday, December 11, 2010, 12-4 PM.
Location: Brandywine Hundred Library (Upstairs Meeting Rooms), 1300 Foulk Road,
Wilmington,DE (Directions)
Event fee: (Potluck) $5 admission with a main dish that can FEED AT LEAST 10
PEOPLE. Some examples are: precooked hot dogs or hamburgers with buns, chicken,
chili, sloppy joes,meatballs, tuna casserole, etc.

$10 if you bring nothing but your sparkling personality and witty repartee.


ActivitiesCharity: All donations we receive in our charity box we will
contribute to Toys for Tots, Childs Play, United Way and other charities around
DE and nationally.

Cosplay/Costume Contest: Prizes for most festive costume and best craftsmanship!

Raffles and Prizes:Could you win your own $20 Gift Certificate to GameStop?!
Other awesome prizes like DVDS, magazines, toys and more! Come and find out!

Secret Santa:
Sit on Santa's lap and get your pic taken. Tell him if you've been a naughty or
nice Otaku this year and see what you get from him! If you have brought a
present for Secret Santa, our Santa Otaku will hand you one!
If you want to participate, bring a small wrapped gift (spend no more than $15,
though) suitable for an anime fan of ages 12 and above (nothing hentai or adult
though please).
