Hello, everyone:
It's time once again to give you all a brief description of what's happened within the AQP this past year.
2007 was a good year for the AQP and its divisions.
The UK Division has had some great numbers with both it's growing membership, as well as the number of completed blankets and cuddle cushions they've sent out. Congratulations go to all the UK members and the heads of that division.
In Canada the same holds true, with more pieces being sent out and more of the members taking a direct involvement in the distribution of the blankets as well. Thanks go to all up there.
Here in the USA I've gotten more requests to join the group then I did last year. I wish I could report that the actual number of those joining had increased as well but that's not the case.
Those who have been with us the longest continue their great support for our efforts, as well as theirs, and we continue to send out blankets to the many hospitals on our mailing list. In fact, the number of hospitals has grown by almost 20! I've gotten a lot of new hospitals in the Washington, DC area and am looking forward to adding more in the new year.
All total, the number of sent blankets grew by almost 1,500, which brings our total to close to 27,000 blankets distributed in just under 8 years. At the end of January, 2008, we begin our 9th year for the AQP and, as always, none of this would've been possible without your support and your talents.
Again, my many, many heart-felt thanks to all those who have made the Angel Quilt Project the success it's become. I couldn't have done this by myself. And, as always, the project isn't here for either my benefit, or yours, but for the families with preemies and seriously ill children who actually get our finished blankets.
May 2008 see our memberships contine to grow! I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
