Amazigh-Net is a forum for discussions on issues related to the Amazigh language, history, and culture. The goals of Amazigh-Net are to be a forum where coherent and constructive discussions can take place. Divisive tactics or behavior that threatens the very existence of the forum will not be tolerated. In the past, Amazigh-net has had many ups and downs. It had ups when the forum served as an educational tool where people exchanged ideas and learned from each other. It served the Amazigh community at large, either to disseminate important information or serve as a network for people to take positive action to promote Tamazight. Amazigh-net had downs as well when members used the forum to carry out personal attacks or attacks directed to the entire community. Many members joined the forum to intervene only in a negative way as if their goal was actually to destroy Amazigh-net or the community it serves.
Past attempts at moderating this forum have yielded in mixed results. Because of the geopolitical situation of Tamazgha, the current situation of Imazighen in their homeland, the many manipulations Imazighen have been subjected to, one should expect Amazigh issues to be a hot topic that should require a moderator. While It is not in our intention to moderate the discussions, it is our will to make sure that only people who can contribute positive, constructive and challenging opinions be given membership. Irrational behavior and offensive messages that are not backed up by any proof are strongly discouraged.
Consequently after more than 20 years (12 years as a yahoogroup) of being a loosely moderated forum that is open to anyone, membership to Amazigh-Net will now be done by invitation only.
This is our attempt to gain transparency into the membership.
Individuals who are added to the list must agree with these goals and regulations.
The owner and moderator(s) reserve the right to add/remove members from
