This is an interfaith group on alternative or plain dress for spiritual and social concerns. The moderator is a liberal universalist Quaker with atheist/secular humanist tendencies (there's a mouthful!) who is interested in non-commercial dress mainly for fair trade and anti-consumerist reasons. We welcome discussion of beliefs and philosophy but ask that members keep the discussion respectful and kind. We would also like to invite people to share tips on clothing sources, historical and cultural research, sewing/knitting tips, etc.
We have recently changed from "open" to "approval required" status as a SPAM-control measure. Please don't be intimidated; all I really want on the membership application is a line or two; you don't need an essay (character witnesses, portfolio of sewing projects, etc.)! The intent is not to be more exclusive so much as it is to protect our members from off-topic email solicitations. We'd love to hear from you!
