Thanks Bill... My rib cage feels like it's been hit by a semi. I am healing, but
still off work. Up a bit, and then back to bed. Just don't want anyone to know I
am alive (laugh_

I know you have a policy of deleting inactive
members that don't post and participate, so thought I
should let you know I will not be around for a while.
Have hospital business that requires some time in the
operating room to make this old body like new. Trouble is
they are going to fuse and screw my spine together so
I won't be able to plant myself infront of the
computer screen for at least 6 weeks. If I can get the
hang of the lap top and feel well enough I can maybe
do that. Someone is loaning me one, as suggested to
me by "fenix_devil"-and I thank him for the idea.
The surgeon has invited me to the operating table at
7:30AM Sharp! on Tuesday, October 9th, and I accepted
his invitation. Til' I am back at the
keyboard....keep up the stories and the treasure finds! Enjoy
Life! Antique Annie

If they deleted all the memebers that did not post for 6 weeks then I would have
been gone because of the job I had keeping me away from home so much.

Tomorrow is the big day I have to go and see the
new companys DR. and get a drug test I know how the
drug test will turn out thats for sure. After that I
will be checking my Truck in with Melton Trucking.
With the new job I will be home every night ( or part
of the night start at 2 am). But NO MORE OTR its a
life that I cant take not seeing family for 2-4 weeks
at a time, eating meals and showering at truck
stops. So now maybe I can get more post in and become
the co-founder that I have not been able to be for
the last 10 months.

Louis

Went to Washington DC this weekend with the
Veterans from my school. It was nice. Yesterday, my wife
and I went to 3 Smithsonians, and the Capitol. Today
we went to the Lincoln Memorial, and the Vietnam
Memorial. I know it may not seem like a treasure related
post, but it is. Our Capitol has some of our Nation's
finest treasures I have ever seen! The architecture
alone is fantistic! And in the American History Museum,
there is a statue of George Washington, and he looks
like a Greek God! It was awesome!
Anyway, that is
all for now. ---Fenix

Finex I know what your saying about DC and it
being a Treasure Chest my only problem with it was when
I went in there with a 18 wheeler, now if you want
to have some fun try that. ( 30 min to get in at
night and 2 hours to go 6 miles out) But our NATIONS
Cap. is great to go and see.

Louis

Been there. Done that.
I used to drive for
Schneider National. I was stuck on 495 for SIX HOURS! Just
stop. & go. Stop. & go. All the time, I was thinking
'Hey. This is just rush hour traffic!' WRONG! I found
out that the traffic is like that all the time! And
if there is a little fenderbender (like there was
that day) BOTH sides slow down even more! Just to
look!
But it was so refreshing to just ride in a
van, playing my portable video game, and leave the
driving to someone else. There was a fenderbender that
day too, and once more, both sides slowed down to
look. It is so much better seeing the capitol from
anything other than a rig, and I hope you get a chance to
do that too. It is well worth it. When we were
leaving, a helicoptor came over the Lincoln Memorial and
circled for a bit. Then a few minutes later, Marine One
flew overhead and was heading towards the White House.
I am assuming that it was our President coming back
from Camp David. Then halfway home, we heard that we
were bombing Afganistan. Interesting, huh?

I went to NYC and out on Long Island to make a
delivery and when I came out hit a traffic jam. They was
doing road work, Had 4 lanes going into 1 lane while
they rebuilt the others on a bridge. I had enough time
that I put the tractor brakes on and went and fixed a
sandwitch in the sleeper, went back to the drivers seat and
could eat the sandwitch before I moved at all. Now
thats a traffic jam.

Louis

it was a salad!!! I makes you wonder, do all truckers have the same experiences?

I dont know about that I had a single air
conditoner and was to high to go thru the 395 tunnel and got
to meet some of DC's finest so I could back out of
it and then got to meet some watching the white
house after my 3rd trip around it and thats when I got
the great direction on how to find where I was
delivering to. I think that tells every one how much fun I
had in DC. On the trip out I got to see how high
people can jump when they walk out with out looking and
hear a air horn.

Louis

Yeah/ People automatically assume that drivers can see everything no matter
what. Thus the blindly walking into traffic. People are dumb!

fewer. I still have interests in treasure hunting
and everything, but I have too many hobbies. Maybe it
is because I am a Gemini and cannot stick to one
thing, or maybe it is A.D.D. and I have too many
hobbies. Right now, I am busy writing a story. It is
currently a short story, but it MAY turn into a much larger
one, who knows? Anyway, I just thought that I would
drop an occasional line, and let everyone know how I
am doing. ---Samm

P.S. My wife and I are
planning on coming to Baton Rouge slightly before Mardi
Gras. We plan to go to New Orleans and stuff. Don't you
live near there, Cajun? Maybe I can come and see you
if our schedule permits.
