As treasure hunters, we all long for that really big find. The sad
part is that once a treasure map has been solved, or the signs and
symbols deciphered properly and the treasure found and removed, that
treasure site is basically dead. Scratch that site off your list and
move on to the next one. That's pretty much how it goes, at least
until now !!
There are some of you out there that have been pursuing the
DeGrazia Paintings which were (supposedly) buried in the Superstition
Mountains. The treasure map to these paintings, which was originally
made by Bob Ward and Ted DeGrazia, is found in a book written by Bob
Ward, and is titled "Ripples of Lost Echo's". ( This book can be
found at the web site of the Superstition Mountain Lost Dutchman
Museum)
Mr. DeGrazia had an excellent idea of how the Spanish coded their
treasure maps. The fact that noone has found the paintings until
recently stands as a testimony to his ability to make one of
these "maps that deceive". There is also no doubt that Ted could
have found many spanish treasures, but one thing stood in his way,
the lack of truthful information as to what the signs and symbols
were saying (the signs and symbols found on the maps as well as in
the field).
The news of this recovery had to come someday, and that someday is
today. The paintings and drawings are no longer there, but I decided
that the proper thing to do would be to let this site, and Teds name,
live on.
So, if you've been looking for the paintings DON'T STOP LOOKING!!
While the paintings and drawings are no longer there, I GUARANTEE
that you WILL be content with what is now buried there, in the same
hole that the paintings came out of !!
