This group is for builders of live steam locomotives using castings provided by Allen Models of Michigan, LLC. Gene Allen developed plans, castings and materials for six locomotives in two different scales: Chloe 0-4-2, Fitchberg Northern 2-6-0 (both 2½" scale narrow gauge), American 4-4-0, Mogul 2-6-0, Ten Wheeler 4-6-0, and Consolidation 2-8-0 (1½" scale). He sold his business to Marty Knox in 2012. All locomotives can be built for either 7¼" or 7½" track gauge. Discussion of problems, offering of solutions, tips on machining, and other things of interest to builders is encouraged.
