Hello and welcome,
AAM is for both readers and writers alike who are interested in talking about books and writing related to the crime, true crime, suspense, mystery, thrillers, or romantic suspense genres. Regardless of whether it's on the shelf at the local bookstore, self-published, or an e-book. Periodic discussion prompts are posted weekly: Monday's the day for what you're reading, Wednesday is the movies of the week, and Saturday is must see TV.
Discussion, however, is not limited to "on topic" posts with the exception of any off-topic business pursuits. So please feel free to share any interesting articles you find (especially those that might inspire a story) and what's going on in your life. Just remember to take care and respect the limitations of other members' computer systems. Many authors have found some of the off-topic posts to be very inspiring...you may too.
However, if you wonder whether something is appropriate or not to post, please contact the group owner and moderators off-list at: allaboutmurder-owner@yahoogroups.com. We'll be happy to review your post and let you know before you send it to the group.
Above all else, AAM is a community of friends and family. Like any group of friends, we don't always agree, but we always try to respect everyone regardless of their views. We think you'll be surprised though at how well we pull this off compared to other groups. It's fine to disagree, just don't be disagreeable.
Don't forget to view the group's website when you get a chance.
Respectfully,
AAM Owners
P.S. Due to the growing size of this list and the volume of mail, all new members are moderated to keep anyone from joining for the sole purpose of posting SPAM or disrupting the group. Typically, an introduction is all it takes to establish yourself. No one can be taken off moderation until the Yahoo! Groups database lists you as a member. This isn't always as quickly as one would assume.
