Birmingham Area Hummingbirds   Message List
Reply Message #12072 of 12530 |
Afternoon Albirders
Martha and I made another banding foray along the mountain communities of
south Birmingham today. Starting early, we banded two more Rufous and one
young female Anna's. Successful captures were made in Irondale, Vestavia
and Hoover.

Unfortunately the Anna's is at a private residence that will not be open to
the public. The Anna's showed up in a yard after the Birmingham CBC.

We have proper documentation for this "review list" bird and it will be
submitted to the ABRC for documentation.

Both area Calliope Hummingbirds have apparently departed the area. We
saw, but could not capture the Rufous hummingbird at the Remy residence. It
is a stunning but totally aggravating little beast. No offense intended Mr.
Rick.

Bob and Martha Sargent
Clay, Alabama
