This is the Albion, Michigan Freecycle(TM) group. We cover the Albion/Parma/Springport/Concord/Homer and surrounding areas.

The goal of the Freecycle program is to reduce waste by connecting individuals who are throwing away goods with others who are seeking them.

Whether you're looking to discard or acquire an item, Freecycle is the place to do it. This includes furniture, clothing, appliances, computers and all the little things in between. We do have a few rules that you must follow in order to participate in the group.

In short:

1)At some point everyone should try to make an OFFER. Everyone has something to OFFER- even if it's old magazines, or boxes from a recent move.

2)Keep it FREE, legal, and appropriate for all ages. NO alcohol, tobacco, or firearms. No trading or bartering. No for rents.

3)Subject line should start with one of four words: Offer, Want, Taken (after an Offer) or Received (after a Want). For example:

OFFER: old couch
WANT: old couch
TAKEN: Do not use Pending (you can state this in the e-mail if necessary).
RECEIVED: old couch

Inside the post include more information on the item, including your general location such as, 'I am located 1 mile north of Albion.' Do NOT include personal details that do not relate to what you are asking for.

4)NO chit-chat, advice, politics, spam posts or ads.

5)One Wanted list per day. Repeat "wants" are limited to once a week.
(And PLEASE no silly requests for mansions, cash, or Hummers.)

6)Animal/pet posts are NO longer allowed on Freecycle.
