This group, Capt. Shackelford’s Co. of Alabama Red Rovers, is a progressive living history group dedicated to portray a truly authentic impression of the Alabama Red Rovers. The Alabama Red Rovers was a volunteer military company that aided the Texans in their War for Independence.
This group is created to serve as a forum for historians interested in portray the Red Rovers impression of other volunteer military units of the Texas Revolution. The Red Rovers was probably one of the best equipped and trained companies in the War for Independence.
