Dear sisters, brothers, friends and colleagues,

This week has been quite an emotional roller coaster for folks within Al-Fatiha and the queer Muslim community.  News of two of our members passing away has brought us great grief and sorrow. 

J, a member of the Al-Fatiha DC chapter passed away due to complications from cancer in early September 2007.  Husayn (Eric), one of the founding members of Al-Fatiha and a man responsible for much of the growth and funding of Al-Fatiha in its early years succumbed to complications from cancer yesterday (October 18).

J and Husayn will be dearly missed by those that came to know them and by their families and loved ones.  May the Divine grant them peace and comfort - now and always.  Aamin.

Please make a dua, prayer and/or a meditation for J and Husayn.  We will miss them dearly.

Innalillahi wa inna ila rajioon.  From Allah we come, and to Him we must return.
