Hi Sri,
I tried the link from the undergrad yahoo group and it worked. (also try
- http://undergrad.akadhmia.org/introduction/) Somethimes the server
gets busy - so try again a little later.
As for the physics courses, unlike most universities that provide a
single course for each subject - we do not. This university is intended
for those who want to live what they study - for example, you want to
study physics to become a physicist. All programs are fully linked to a
graduate program, to a post-doc program and a research institute. The
syllabus is designed to give the student a base from which to design
their own program (major) from free material on the internet. This is
the material that goes into and comes from your iLibrary (see the study
guide). This iLibrary grows from an undergrad library to a full research
library, when you finish graduate school. Basing our program around the
student's iLibrary makes us fully competitive with the top universities
like Harvard and MIT. Further, we ensure our students are well rounded
in their education. An asset (to your major) that will become more
apparent when in graduate school. However, the program doesn't have to
stay general - for example you can re-focus history on the history of
physics, by studying people like Gauss and the time period that
influenced his work.
The starting point for all students should the study guide - to ensure
that you get how the university works and to start building your
iLibrary (this could take two months or more). As well, the pass/fail
for each semester will be based on what is seen on (and the growth of)
your website. You need to demonstrate your knowledge. I'm adding new
material (for student guidance) just about every two months.
Successfully students write and ask questions - so don't be shy. While,
I won't just give you an answer - I will guide you to it. Remember, the
goal here is to make you a top level physicist!
