Highlight of this group was at 6:55am this morning, the Polet A124. Plus a
couple more Virgin America A320's, a Canada Reg. Cessna and several biz jets.

Funny that it mentions nothing about the fact that the controllers ignored
emergency communications from the flight and did not dispatch emergency vehicles
to meet the aircraft as requested. ATC recordings indicate that the controllers
did not take the emergency call seriously and asked the afflicted aircraft to
taxi off the runway promptly before it began to dawn on them that an emergency
was actually transpiring.

Today's highlights were the Atlas 744, The First Lady's arrival on not the
typical paint C40, a couple nice biz jets and the 2nd Southwest B738. Of course
it was cloudy 99% of the time.

Just a few photos today. I was Paying attention this time. British Airways
brought in another 777-300 (BTW, they brought one in last week on the 7pm
flight). Too bad it was cloudy today plus some birds got in the shots. Also a
C-20B from Andrews, which I didn't chase to departures as BA was about 20 miles
out.

A couple more Virgin America, with one landing on RW35. Wish they would do that
all the time. That time of day the light there is perfect. Of course, the
morning taxi is perfect light too. Plus an improved photo of the 2nd Southwest
738 and a few biz jets.

Well, I didn't go to IAD for the Shuttle arrival, but I got a good consolation
prize. The Capital Cargo 727 in new colors in somewhat decent light. Plus a
slew of biz jets. Even PNE proved fruitful.

I should have checked the conditions at PHL this morning before I left. The sun
was out in my neighborhood, but 1/8th a mile visibilty at PHL. Did make for a
nice sun photo though. It also diverted a lot of stuff. Including the Capital
Cargo 727, which diverted to EWR and then came back around 1130am. A couple very
nice biz jets today, including the Flying Sneaker.

Yesterdays highlights were a Sun Country B738 and a World Cargo MD-11, plus a
Canadian reg. B100 and a few biz jets.

Not much going on the past few days, that and less than desirable weather. Mitt
Romney paid a visit on a J328, actually in a J328. He then boarded his Tour Bus
which was waiting. Only a couple biz jets.

Some stuff from mostly PHL, and a very disappointing visit to the Farm Fun
Fly-in. Only 4 aircraft, and only one new one. That was the Stearman. I would
have went to Massey Aerodrome, but it looked like rain was headed that way.
Needless to say that's probably my last trip to Farm Fun Days. On the way home
I stopped at Flying W, that was DEAD. But they do have a new wooden fence. But
at least some decent biz jets over the weekend.

In this mostly all biz jet post, some nice stuff on bad weather days, of course.
Highlight Was M-CELT, an Irish reg. Falcon 7X, plus a Private E135BBJ with a RW
17 arrival. Someone might like the N744XP photo. Plus the normal nice biz jet
obstructed by a fence.

I guess I better post something from PHL. The weather has been horrible the past
several days, so I haven't spent much time at PHL. So some biz jets with a
couple foggy day shot that I managed to fix with photoshop. Example included,
which I oversharpened a bit.

Finally got through all the photo editing. Like usual the lighting is HORRIBLE
at McGuire, so I went to the parking lot and tried my luck from there. 99% of
the aerial stuff was from there. The highlights for me were all static. I left
right after the Lancer demo, didn't stick around for the Thunderbirds. Wasn't
going to get stuck in traffic for something I've seen a dozen times.

Best day was Sunday. Got another off my want list. The Virgin America SF Giants
livery. But do something with the nose paint. The arrival was 7am and cloudy,
but soon as it landed the sun came out and stayed when it taxied out. Plus
Sunday delivered a couple British Biz Jets, one departed, the other is still
there.

And the Nolan Ryan Express for Anne

Went to PHL very early this morning to get the Caribbean-Air Jamaica. I should
have went around to the other side as the light was slightly better there (see
the WN & CO departures - that go right to left)

Previous days, the Jetstar departing (N313JS), plus a new type of Southwest for
me.
Plus another Southwest B738, a nice C750.

Also, I think they bused people to the plane pull somewhere else than Atlantic
Aviation. But I couldn't find it. Anyone know where the plane that was pulled?

Plus on an OT note, the American Heritage bus photo got me a lecture that I
shouldn't be doing that because of 9-11. I stated OK, I won't take the photo and
the terrorists wins again. The person then shut up. My first 9-11 lecture while
taking a photo of a tour bus.

Southwest to sublease all 88 AirTran 717s aircraft to Delta

By Christine Boynton | May 23, 2012

Southwest Airlines (SWA) has reached a tentative agreement with Delta Air Lines
(DL) and Boeing Capital Corp. to sublease all 88 AirTran (FL) Boeing 717
aircraft to DL, transitioning three aircraft per month over a three-year period
beginning in the second half of 2013.

DL and SWA are still in talks to reach a final agreement with all parties
related to aircraft leases. Once final, all 717s would depart the fleet by 2015.

"This is a very complex transaction that requires time and close coordination
with multiple parties," SWA EVP and COO Mike Van de Ven said. "While we do have
a tentative agreement with Delta, final details must be completed with all
parties before a binding agreement between Delta and Southwest can be
completed."

SWA said it currently plans to keep its total fleet count "relatively flat" as
the 717s transition to DL, and will replace FL 717 flying with 737 aircraft. It
will maintain service to all previously announced airports, it stressed.

"All pilots would train and transition directly into the airline's 737 fleet as
the 717s are reduced," SWA said. "AirTran flight attendants and maintenance
personnel are currently trained on both aircraft types."

Unruly passenger restrained, arrested on Miami-bound American Airlines plane

By Monique O. Madan

A Canadian man is in federal custody after he tried to rush the front of the
plane at the end of a flight from Jamaica to Miami as the busy Memorial Day
weekend got started on Friday.

Ryan Snider, 24, is facing federal and state charges, including interference
with a flight crew, according to the FBI.

Authorities declined to provide Snider's hometown.

Friday's incident after the plane landed in Miami from Montego Bay. FBI
spokesman Michael Leverock said the outburst was not terrorism-related and that
Snider's name was not on the "no fly list."

American Airlines Flight 320 with 165 people onboard landed safely at Miami
International Airport at around 10:20 a.m. Friday and remained at the gate as
police arrested Snider and investigators arrived, airport spokesman Greg Chin
said.

The passengers were eventually let off and taken to a terminal. They left
without talking to reporters.

Snider became unruly after the plane landed.

"He didn't obey the crew members' instructions to sit down," said American
Airlines spokeswoman Dori Alvarez in Miami. She described the suspect as a
"disoriented male passenger" who "moved toward the front of the aircraft" after
it had landed and was taxiing toward the gate.

"He was subdued" by others on the plane," Alvarez said, before being taken into
custody by police.

According to Miami-Dade Detective Alvaro Zabaleta, Snider appeared to be drunk
and tried to rush the cockpit. He was charged with disorderly intoxication and
resisting arrest by Miami-Dade police.

Snider's court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday. It's not known if he has an
attorney.

Some interesting effects this early morning with the fog. Highlights: Air
Jamaica B738. BTW, it would seem at 6am, no sun is better than sun for
photography at PHL. Also a nice C750 earlier in the week, once again the VA
Giants A320 arrives in fog. And assorted other biz jets and stuff.

Some good stuff the past few days. Highlight was the NAC B744, divert on the way
to JFK. Got it departing 6am Sunday morning. Plus an almost bare bones Caribbean
B738. A very nice C680, a Sabre, and a few from what had to be the worse fly-in
at Cross Keys to date. Only 3 aircraft on Saturday June 02. But what happened to
N1954L? Plus, a C-5, a nice GLEX, another in the fleet of Southwest B738's, a
train, a turtle and another lost UPS driver hat.
