Affray Weyr was founded on the Southern Continent in the latter part of the 9th Interval, with riders volunteering from all the northern Weyrs, lured by the chance of advancement and adventure.

Affray’s fictional timespan extends from the founding of the Weyr and the approach of the Red Star, to the present day of Threadfall. In our timeline, AIVAS was found, but broke shortly after, so the events of All the Weyrs of Pern never occurred. Our 10th Pass Pern has Thread.

Affray is located in the middle of the Southern continent, on the base of an abandoned Ancients’ settlement. The climate is nice, the ocean is nearby, and digging a Weyr out of solid rock will be an entertaining pastime.

Affray has plenty of room for all types of characters; (Only one queenrider per person, please!) we are happy to allow you to have ranking characters, with the understanding that if you are inactive for a certain period of time, your characters will be transferred to Limbo Wing/Hold/Hall, and should you wish to return, you may pick them up again at any point in their personal timelines.

Our vast timespan is intended to give everyone a chance to write what interests them. If you’ve always wanted to write about the founding of a Weyr, or if you are a Threadfall junkie, this is the place for you.
