"Viking is the story of Skarin, a young viking warrior, who is basically outcast from his clan because people fear him and his visions. When Hel and her legions of undead attack, Skarin rushes to the aid of his clan but soon falls to Hel’s champion who is more beast than man and quickly the clan is destroyed with many fleeing or captured or worse. Freya, Goddess of Love and War, appointed by her father Odin to destroy Hel and her minions, gives life to Skarin and grants him power to lead the clans of Midgard and destroy Hel once and for all."

A second clan of gods, the Vanir, is also mentioned in the Norse mythos: the god Njord and his children, Freyr and Freyja, are the most prominent Vanir gods who join the Æsir as hostages after a war between Æsir and Vanir. The Vanir appear to have mainly been connected with cultivation and fertility and the Æsir were connected with power and war."
