dhyAnam -
AUM pArthAya pratibodhitAM bhagavatA nArAyanena svayaM
vyAsena grathitaM purANamuninA madhye mahAbhAratam |
advaitAmRRitavarShiNiM bhagavatImaShTAdashAdhyAyinIM
amba tvAmanusandadhAmi bhagavadgIte bhavadveShiNIm ||

Om, O Bhagavadgita, with which Partha (Arjuna) was illuminated by Lord Narayana Himself and which was composed in the middle of the Mahabharata by the ancient sage Vyasa, O Divine Mother, the destroyer of rebirth, the showerer of the nectar of Advaita (teaching of Oneness in all things) and consisting of eighteen chapters – upon Thee, O Bhagavad Gita! O affectionate Mother! I meditate.

sarvopaniShado gAvo dogdhA gopAla nandanaH |
pArtho vatsaH sudhIrbhoktA dugdhaM gItAmRRitaM mahat ||

All the upanishads are the cows; the milker is Krishna, the cowherd-boy;
pArtha (Arjuna) is the calf; men of purified intellect are the drinkers
of milk; milk is the great nectar of the gItA.



Gita Ch.10

svayamevaatmanaatmaanaM vettha tvaM puruShottama .
bhuutabhaavana bhuutesha devadeva jagatpate .. 10\-15..
vistareNaatmano yogaM vibhuuti.n cha janaardana .
bhuuyaH kathaya tR^iptirhi shR^iNvato naasti me.amR^itam.h .. 10\-18..
shriibhagavaanuvaacha .
hanta te kathayiShyaami divyaa hyaatmavibhuutayaH .
praadhaanyataH kurushreShTha naastyanto vistarasya me .. 10\-19..

Arjuna said:

15. O supreme Person, the Creator of beings, the Lord of beings, God of gods, the Lord of the worlds, You Yourself alone know Yourself by Yourself.

18. O Janardana, narrate to me again. Your own yoga and (divine) manifestations elaborately. For, while hearing (Your) nectar-like (words), there is no satiety in me.

The Blessed Lord said:
19. O best of the Kurus, now, according to their importance, I shall describe to you My own glories, which are indeed divine. There is no end to my manifestations.
