Creating a lifebook for your adopted child can be a daunting task. This group will help you to evaluate the variety of alternative formats and resources to choose what is right for you and your child; we will discuss styles, how-to's and share samples.

There are many important aspects to lifebook work. Each of us as parents needs to work through stumbling blocks in pieces of our children's stories just as our children need to make sense of what has happened to them and how that makes them feel. To this end, we will offer thoughtful discussion on a variety of topics. Lifebook work is one element in opening and maintaining the adoption dialog with our children. We will also discuss how to use the variety of resources available to us to have open, truthful and empathetic conversations with our children. There is no "one size fits all" for a lifebook and this group will help share ideas that might help you to find the right tool for you and your child to work through these conversations most effectively.
