Welcome to the Angeles City, Philippines House Project Group.

The purpose of this group is to provide a diary of the work in progress of the McLane Residence. Look for the weekly updates in the photo and files sections.

This 300 square meter (3000 sq.ft) single story house is being constructed on the Island of Luzon in Angeles City about 90 km's north of Manila as a retirement dream home.

The house is situted on two 500 square meter lots (10,000 sq. ft.) 26-5 Xandrea Lane in Sunset Estates Subdivision which is in the Cutcut Barangay along the Fil-Am Friendship Highway on the west side of the city.

The subdivision is a secure gated community with a concrete streets, water system, club house and swimming pool.

The house design includes large overhanging roof eaves (415 sq. mt. of roofed area), wide concrete roof gutters, tall ceilings 4 meters (13 ft.), a central cupola area for natural ventilation (10 meter tall ceiling), 3 large bedrooms, a maids room, a separate drivers quarters, two stall carport, a portaco in front, small pool and a two story viewing platform with waterfall into pool.

Construction materials include concrete hollow blocks, steel trusses, insulated roof, concrete roof tiles, hardwood doors, marble floors and granite countertops.

The budget is $7,500,000 pesos for 300 square meters which works out to be roughly 25,000 pesos per square meter not including the pool. A detailed budget is in the files section. We paid $3,600 pesos per square meter for the land ($3,600,000 pesos/ 1000 square meters) in 2003. 50p=$1.
