Greetings!
There are modern Florins worth about two shillings (such as the
Godless Florin and the Gothic Florin). See:
http://www.tclayton.demon.co.uk/pics/florn.html However these are not
what we're looking for.
Meanwhile, the "Golden Florin" we find in Abramelin is called a
"Guilder" or "Gulder": http://www.channels.nl/knowledge/8033.html
Here is the Wikipedia post on Gulders:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guilder
And you can follow that entry to the entry on the Florin itself:

The Book of Abramelin suggests 10 Florins at one point, but otherwise
the number is supposed to be 72. (Those who recieve the coins are
supposed to recite the 72 Psalms of David.) I feel it is the number
of coins that is important, rather than a modern equivalent value.
You could obtain 72 golden florins. Or you could use 72 dollars
instead. (Florins were likely used in Abramelin thanks to their being
made of gold- Solar- as well as the fact that they were the best
available currency of the day.)
Also keep in mind that the Florins were supposed to be given to the
Adept from whom you recieved the Abramelin Rite. However, that rule
went null and void when the book was published for the general public.
(Abraham's Angel predicted this would happen.) Personally, I would
suggest one simply make a charitable donation of $72 dollars, or
pounds, or euros, etc. ;)
